“Oo Ah Ah” It’s National Gorilla Suit Day
It’s official. The 31st January is National Gorilla Suit Day.
January. A month in the year which can be pretty dull. The elements tend to be gloomy, New Years resolutions are in full ‘swing’ and our forest doors are sadly shut. However not all is lost. We’re all beating our chests at Banana HQ and picking out the woodchip from each others Gorilla Suits as we celebrate National Gorilla Day…The perfect way to wave off the first month of the year.
What began on the pages of Don Martin’s comic strips for Mad Magazine has become a much anticipated (non-national) holiday. A far easier holiday than Halloween, you don’t even need to decide what to dress up as. We’ll tell you…a gorilla!
The beauty with this ‘special’ day is not only do you get to monkey around but you can have fun by accessorising your gorilla suit. It could be a waistcoat, a hula skirt, a hat, bikini, Hawaiin shirt, tuxedo or Ski Goggles to name but a few! The more outrageous the better!
If you’ve missed out today do not fear! February is just around the corner and our forest doors will officially open so why not plan a visit to one of our tree-tops dressed as a gorilla?
And finally…Why do gorillas have big nostrils? Because they have big fingers!
