Staff were really friendly and very helpful. The course was fantastic, plenty of challenging bits, but nothing I or our 11 year old couldn’t do...He, and I, particularly loved the massive zip lines at the beginning and end, along with the Tarzan Swings.

Site Manager Pete's Guide on things to do in Aberfoyle

What do customers love most about your Go Ape?

The cross-valley zip wires. Words can't do it justice, but the feeling of soaring high above the forest overlooking the waterfall with views of the hills takes some beating. The best part is sharing the experience with someone, as they're on the zip line next to you.

Can spectators watch the high ropes activity?

Absolutely, there is a waymarked trail that you can follow over to where our course is. The walk takes approximately 15 minutes.

How would you recommend people prepare for their visit?

You should wear sensible clothes that you don't mind getting muddy. The course is in Scotland, so you should prepare for changeable and wet weather, and it adds to the fun when it does rain as long as you're wearing suitable clothing.

Your footwear must be sturdy and suitable for the outdoors. No sandals, slip off shoes, open toes or heels. I'd also avoid wearing your brand new suede trainers!

Gloves are a good idea. Either bring a pair or buy them at the cabin on the day.

Outtdoor Activities in Aberfoyle

What are your recommendations for things to do in Aberfoyle?

We have an on-site cafe inside the visitor centre where you can grab a bite to eat. You should climb Ben A'an, a great wee hill with fine views of the highlands. It's achievable for anyone, my son climbed this when he was 3.

There are miles and miles of waymarked forest trails starting from the visitor centre after you've completed your activity. There's a squirrel hide at the visitor centre where you can sit and watch the Red Squirrels and, if you are lucky, some Pine Martins.

Bike hire is available in the village, with the stunning Loch Ard a short ride away.

There's a natural play area for the kids along the waterfall trail, which starts from the visitor centre - lots of interactive play features.

Fantastic experience from start to finish. My 11 year old loved it too. Physically demanding in places but well worth it to get to the final zip line, stunning views and a real adrenaline rush. Instructors were always on hand if needed but never overpowering , really encouraging to anyone struggling. Theres a few little picnic areas and a cafe and its dog friendly too. Well recommended experience and well worth the money!
