Tucked away in 440 acres of beautiful woodland and meadows close to the River Itchen. Go Ape Southampton, Itchen Valley Country Park is perfect for a family days out in Hampshire, and friends looking for awesome activities in Southampton, Portsmouth or Eastleigh.

Our Tree Top Adventure involves fun and adventure across five sites. Each site features our award winning high ropes, awesome crossings, tunnels, bridges and an epic wind-in-your-face zip wire to finish.

We're open from February to November, but we close our forest doors during December and January ( gets a little chilly and we like to maintain our adventures so they're all ready to go next year).

Get directions

By car

  • From the West

Exit the M27 at junction 5 and take the 2nd exit on roundabout, signposted Eastleigh A335, then follow brown tourist signs to Itchen Valley Country Park.

  • From the North

Follow the M3, joining the M27 Eastbound towards Portsmouth.  Exit the M27 at junction 5 and take the 2nd exit on the roundabout, then follow the brown tourist signs to Itchen Valley Country Park.

  • From the East

Exit the M27 at junction 7.  From junction 7, take the first exit, signposted Southampton A334, then the 3rd exit at the next roundabout, signposted West End A27, and follow brown tourist signs to Itchen Valley Country Park.

  • From Southampton

Head towards Southampton Airport.  Join the A27 and follow brown tourist signs to Itchen Valley Country Park.

  • From Eastleigh

Take the A355 to Southampton airport.  Follow brown tourist signs to Itchen Valley Country Park, past the airport onto A27.

You'll find Go Ape in the furthest car park. We are tucked away in the corner!

Please note that the following parking charges apply: £2.30 1 to 4 hours. Over 4 hours  -   £3.40. Coach Parking: £15.00 per day. It might be worth getting a ticket for over 4 hours on busy days at Go Ape (usually weekends), your adventure may take a little longer than usual.


By train

Southampton Airport parkway is our nearest Train station, next to the Airport. From here you can catch the xelabus X4 Towards West End. Get of the bus just after passing Haskins garden centre. From here it’s just under a mile walk (about 20min) Continue along the road until you reach the Roundabout. Turn left and follow the road until you reach the entrance to the park.

It is possible to walk all the way from the station to the park. It’s approximately 3 miles and takes about an hour.

A Taxi Should cost less than £10.

By bus

The nearest bus stop to Go Ape Itchen Valley is about a 20 min walk away (less than a mile). If you enter our postcode SO30 3HQ into Google maps and select directions via public transport you'll find details of the next available bus service.

i am terrified of heights and this pushed me to the limit, as i was first in the line you have to get on with it and go. after this experience i would like to go again.

Would of been better if shorter, or less courses, got a bit samey and boring towards the end. Courses 1 2 and 4 would of been perfect. :-) Also parrot ladder on course 5 I would say was dangerous according to staff when I mentioned it " oh the rungs are always coming out of that ladder we replace them when we can" but I wouldn't say that was good enough because rungs are not enclosed the safety ropes get caught around the rungs that are there, and then when you get close to the top you discovered rungs are missing. Also I never done a high ropes course before where you didn't have places within the course where you could get down if injured or terrified, not that we needed them but would of been nice to see the courses were set up for the just in case. Also website not clear that if you go with 2 children it will take you 4 hours, (I don't think we were slow and no one caught us up,) also you have to be fitter than being able to climb a rope ladder to do the tarzan swing.
