All About Go Ape Forest Segway.
Go Ape Forest Segway takes you exploring off-road on the latest in clean green technology – self-balancing, electric Segways – a totally unique way to tackle tough trails. You don’t have to be able to drive – our fully qualified instructors will show you how to make your way, and when you’ve cracked it, you can take off and explore with us. With all-terrain tyres and gyroscopic sensors to keep you upright, all you need to do is enjoy the ride.
Can I Go Ape Forest Segway?

Age 10 or overPlease note. You’ll need to be both over 7 stone AND over 10 years
. We’re aware that not all 10 year olds are over 7 stone, but they MUST be this weight to enjoy the Forest Segway experience. Our segways require this as a minimum weight.
Under 19.5 stone/125kg (this is to make sure the Segway gyroscopes keep their balance)Child Riders 10 – 15 year olds (min 7st) must be supervised by an adult
(Ratio 1 Adult to 3 under 16 years). Youth Riders 16 – 17 years can ride unsupervised
but can not supervise others.
There’s no upper age limit, so as long as you can stand for an hour, you can Go Ape Forest Segway.
How long does the experience last?
You’ll enjoy getting off the beaten track on our epic off road segways for an hour. Your experience with us lasts an hour, and that includes a brief bit of safety and instruction before you head out with us.

As with any adventure, there’s always a certain risk factor involved when you Go Ape Forest Segway. But follow our safety procedures and you’ll be safe.Strap on your helmet, pay close attention to the safety talk and get set to Go Ape Forest Segway. Our fully-trained instructors will show you how to ride the all-terrain Segway and after a test drive you’re good to go.
Can I wear my own helmet?
No. You can not wear your own helmet. All of our helmets are registered from first use and undergo thorough regular inspection. It is imperative that we know the history of any helmets used on our sessions.
I am unable to wear a helmet due to religious headwear. Can I still take part?
Yes. However, we strongly recommend that you wear one of our helmets. However we do not want to be discriminatory and should you decide not to wear a helmet for religious reasons then we will require you to complete an additional disclaimer.
What time do I need to arrive?
Make your way to the Go Ape cabin and be ready to get going on your Go Ape adventure at your booked time. Late arrivals that miss their session will be charged at full price. Allow plenty of time as it may take considerably longer than you think to drive into the forest, park and get to the Go Ape cabin, particularly on busy days when traffic queuing is more likely.
Do I need to bring any paperwork?
No just bring yourself and your tribe.
Wear something you don’t mind getting grubby with secure, flat-bottomed closed toed shoes on your feet – no sandals or high heels please! Riders wear a Go Ape Forest Segway helmet for the whole session. And when it’s cold, we recommend you wear gloves. You can buy a pair of gloves from the cabin.
Do we still ride in the rain?
Yes, of course, it’s just as fun (if not more!) in the rain when there’s a bit of mud about the place. Just be sure to avoid going straight through the puddles.
Yes; Go Ape holds £10m of public liability Insurance covering all of its courses.
What if I have a pre-existing injury or medical condition?
The staff at Go Ape are not medically qualified and so are not in a position to assess the capacity of participants to undertake a course. It remains your responsibility to undertake such an assessment prior to use of the course. We advise you to visit the course prior to booking to undertake your own risk assessment. You may also wish to contact your doctor for further advice. We require customers to complete an additional disclaimer if this is the case.
What is your cancellation policy?
You can cancel your adventure but need to do this at least 48 hours before the booked start time by calling the booking line on 0845 643 9215 (local rates apply). You will be fully refunded.Go Ape might need to cancel your booking or end the session early. If this happens, we’ll refund you in full. Sometimes, unfortunately, we might need to close the course for reasons beyond our control. If you have already started the course you will not be entitled to any refund (in part or in whole). We will do our best to offer alternative dates or times at reduced rates.
