Forest Segway FAQs

Segway

What is Go Ape! Forest Segway?

Go Ape! Forest Segway takes you exploring off-road on the latest in clean green technology – self-balancing, electric Segways – a totally unique way to tackle tough trails. You don’t have to be able to drive – our fully qualified instructors will show you how to make your way, and when you’ve cracked it, you can take off and explore with us. With all-terrain tyres and gyroscopic sensors to keep you upright, all you need to do is enjoy the ride.

Can I Go Ape! Forest Segway?

Join us if you’re:
Over 7 stone/45kg
Age 10 or over
Under 19.5 stone/125kg (this is to make sure the Segway gyroscopes keep their balance)

Child Riders 10 – 15 year olds (min 7st) must be supervised by an adult (Ratio 1 Adult to 3 under 16 years). Youth Riders 16 – 17 years can ride unsupervised but can not supervise others.

There’s no upper age limit, so as long as you can stand for an hour, you can Go Ape Forest Segway.

How do I book?

You can book forest segway online or call 0845 643 92 15.

How long does the experience last?

You’ll enjoy getting off the beaten track on our epic off road segways for an hour. Your experience with us lasts an hour, and that includes a brief bit of safety and instruction before you head out with us.

Is it Safe?

As with any adventure, there’s always a certain risk factor involved when you Go Ape Forest Segway. But follow our safety procedures and you’ll be safe.

Strap on your helmet, pay close attention to the safety talk and get set to Go Ape Forest Segway. Our fully-trained instructors will show you how to ride the all-terrain Segway and after a test drive you’re good to go.

Do we still ride in the rain?

Yes, of course, it’s just as fun (if not more!) in the rain when there’s a bit of mud about the place.

Anything else I should know?

Here’s a few floor level facts and ground rules.
One Go Ape Forest Segway session lasts one hour and costs £25 per rider.
Make sure you arrive on time to get your full session.
Stick to the marked trails.
Riders aged over 16 must bring photo ID and proof of address before they can ride a Segway for insurance purposes.

Riders have to keep their Go Ape Forest Segway helmet on for the whole session.
When it’s cold, we recommend you wear gloves.

Most importantly, enjoy the adventure!

Why do we need photo id and proof of address? Is this for all adults or just those close to 16 to prove they are over 16? What if I don’t have any photo id, I have old style driving licence and no passport?

    • Anonymous

Hi there, it’s just for insurance purposes. Will be just fine if you bring an old style driving licence. The Go Ape Tribe.
