Know Before You Go
- Wear sensible clothes for adventure.
- Footwear must be sturdy and suitable for the outdoors. No sandals, slip off shoes, open toes or heels.
- Gloves are a good idea. Either bring a pair or you can buy them at the cabin on the day.

Make A Day of It

Hike to the top of Rivington Pike – over 1000 feet above sea level.
- Enjoy some refreshments in the Great House Barn Café.
- Head over to Rivington Terraced Gardens to discover hidden paths, caves, structures and lakes.
MANCHESTER'S OWN MINI LAKE DISTRICT
Hailed the mini Lake District of Manchester, Rivington is a perfect location for Go Ape. With its rugged hills, picturesque reservoirs and woodland bustling with wildlife, it has proved to be a hit with adrenaline lovers who enjoy a whole day out.
On the edge of the moors, there’s a wonderful sense of wilderness to Rivington Go Ape. You really can escape to the countryside. With its rugged hills, picture-postcard views and bustling woodland this is a great location for some tree-high challenges.
Close to Bolton, 20-minutes from Preston, 30-minutes from Manchester and an hour from Leeds you’ll get a sense of what awaits as you approach. Steeped in history you can admire the two reservoirs and Rivington House Barn which dates back to the 18th century.
Head into Rivington which is described as one of the prettiest villages in Lancashire.
Rivington Pike is a popular hiking destination and at 1,191-feet above sea level, you can see the Blackpool Tower, Isle of Man and the Lake District Fells on a clear day. There’s also Rivington Terraced Gardens to discover with its hidden paths, caves, structures and lakes.
If all this activity works up an appetite, head over to the historic Great House Barn and Tearoom for some light refreshments.
