A Day Out in Battersea Park

London is home to some of the best parks in the UK and, when we ask around for the general consensus, Battersea Park usually trumps the lot of them.
Battersea Park Tree Top Junior

It never seems to be ridiculously crowded, it has some of the most beautiful green spaces spread over its 200 acres, each with their own personality, and it features everything from paths and ponds to birds and bikes, meaning you could easily spend the whole day there!

So, if you're looking for a fun-filled day out with the tribe, take a look at the following ideas on how you could spend your day at Battersea Park many of which cost very little... or zilch!

THE PEACE PAGODA

All the Christmas mayhem can be a little overwhelming, to say the least! Take five and pay a visit to the oasis that is the Peace Pagoda, built in 1985 on the south side of the River Thames inspired by the Japanese Buddhist stupas. And relax!

PIT STOP AT LA GONDOLA AL PARCO

Super close to Battersea Park Station and looking out over the beautiful lake, you'll find this family-friendly cafe. Pop in and warm up with a hot chocolate, or (we know it's not the right time of year but who cares?!) a couple of scoops of Italian ice cream. Yum!

EXPLORE THE PLAYGROUNDS

Battersea Park caters to kids of all ages, so will delight toddlers, teens, and anyone in between! The refurbished Adventure Playground is perfect for 5 to 16-year-olds; the Children's Playground next door has equipment designed with 1 to 7-year-olds in mind; and the Toddlers' Playground (adjacent to the Adventure Playground) is for mini monkeys under the age of 5.

MAKE THE MOST OF THE SPACE

As well as awesome smaller gardens waiting to be explored, there are also vast amounts of lush green space so make the most of it! How about rallying the tribe up for a game of winter rounders? Or just bring a football and have a kickabout it's hard to believe you're in the centre of London with all that green surrounding you!

PLAY TENNIS

Fancy yourself as the next Andy Murray? There are a number of tennis courts around Battersea Park so you can pretend you're in the Wimbledon final. Call 020 8871 7542 for more information or to book a court.

GO APE!

Finally, how about treating the tribe to a couple of hours hanging out in the trees at our brand spanking new course in Battersea Park? As long as you're over 10, weigh a maximum of 130kg and are at least 1.4 metres tall, you can have a go on our main course, but we've got a mini Tarzan course for little monkeys aged 6 to 9, too. Directly below our treetop adventure, there's also free-to-use play equipment including chain ladders, tube slides and rope swings.

Although Battersea Park Go Ape is a paid-for activity, we think you'll agree that it's money well spent and is the perfect festive treat for all the family and yet another reason to visit this stunningly historic park!
