We take pride in giving something back

Bit of a deep breath, here. Obviously, we take pride in giving something back, but not because we’re trying to make people think we’re worthy and impressive, but because we just think it’s the right thing to do.

So we’ve decided to run with the section to tell you a little more about the incredible work of the charities we support, and in hope that everyone who hears about that work will feel motivated to do their bit too.

WHO WE’RE SUPPORTING IN 2018, AND HOW?

The Site Managers and Instructors at our 33 locations will be choosing and supporting local charities in 2018.

Keep your eyes peeled here for more information on our Go Ape charities of the year.

In 2018, we will be pledging £40,000. Look out for gorillas acting strangely somewhere near you!

What we did in 2017

In 2017 we donated over £47k in cash and gift vouchers to good causes throughout the UK.

Each of our 31 courses chose to raise money in different ways for different charities. Below are a few notable fundraising activities!

Our Site Manager at Go Ape Aberfoyle abseiled the Falkirk Wheel for Spina Bifida.

The Instructors at Go Ape Alice Holt participated in a wolf run and a fire walk for Disability Challengers.

One of our Instructors at Go Ape Bracknell represented Go Ape in the London Surrey 100 mile bike ride.

Go Ape gets thousands of requests every year – we can’t support everybody and the list below are those causes that we currently do not support.

Please check before applying:

  1. Go Ape Tree Top Junior adventures are aimed at Junior Tarzans from six years old so we have a policy of supporting only projects and charities that meet the needs of children from this age

  2. Go Ape does not support overseas charities

  3. Go Ape does not support individual fundraisers who are raising money to take part in organised overseas challenges and trips

  4. Go Ape does not support Animal Charities

  5. Go Ape prioritises local good causes in the communities near to our Go Ape location

So, if you feel your cause is actively encouraging people to live life adventurously and would like to apply, please submit a charity request.

We only accept online applications, any application made via post or phone will not be accepted.
