Calling all teachers, parents and young adventurers!

Introducing this year’s Go Ape Young Adventurer competition.

 

Back for its third year, we are encouraging all young adventurers to get creative both in and out of the classroom.

 

Does your class, child or family member enjoy a challenge and loves reading, writing and drawing? Then this is the competition for them as we want to celebrate wonderful imaginations.

 

Whether they choose to write or draw about an adventure, we want to hear from them.

 

How to enter:

The mission: to write or draw about an adventure they have been on, or where their imagination has taken them.

 

Writing: 100-500 words


Drawing: A4 picture /Storyboard


With two age categories 4 - 7 years and 8 - 12 years old.


Entries are open from 7th March – 4th April 2019.

Adventure stories must be at least 100 words and no more than 500 words. If you're entering with a typed story, please use this option. If your story is handwritten, please take a photo of the story or scan to PDF. You can upload files via the next option.
Please note that max file size is 15MB. Please use this option to upload a handwritten story via an image or PDF file. If you've typed a story above and would like to add a supporting drawing, you can do that here too - just take a digital snap of the drawing and add it here.

Prize Draw & Competition Terms and Conditions

1. The Promoter is: Adventure Forest Limited Trading as Go Ape Ltd whose registered office is at Unit 6, Fornham Business Court, The Drift, Fornham St Martin, Bury St Edmunds, IP31 1SL.

 

2. The Competition is: a creative competition about adventure. You can enter via two creative methods, writing or drawing. Entries will be split into two age categories, 4-7 years old and 8-12 years old. Each age category will have a writing and drawing category winner. An overall winner from the category winner will be selected and they will win their school class a prize of a bundle of books from Hachette and a Go Ape School Trip.

 

Prizes include;

 

- Four Go Ape Adventure boxes for the individual age category, creative winners, boxes are worth over £100 each:

The winner of the Writing in both age categories will win a selection of 5 books, relevant to the age group.

The winner of the drawing in both age categories will win a selection of art supplies, relevant to the age group.

Both boxes to include; Go Ape Family Trip, to be issued in the form of a gift voucher. Winner(s) will receive a voucher for four people (2 adults and 2 children) to be valid for 12months and used at a UK adventure only. Winner(s) must comply to the supervision and participation ratios.

 

- b. Two Micro Scooters, one each for the overall age category winner. To be supplied as a gift voucher to the winner(s):

A Maxi Micro Deluxe scooter and accessory set for the 4-7 years category

A Micro Sprite scooter and accessory set for the 8-12 years category.

 

- In addition, each overall age category winner will win their school class the below;

A bundle of books for each age group school class from Hachette. Hachette to supply 30 books relevant for the age category direct from their warehouse to the winner(s).

A Go Ape Class Trip for each of the Winner’s class. Trip for 30 students and required supervisors. Trip to be taken term time before October 2019. Trip to contain the cost of the coach for the school. Invoice for the coach to be sent to Go Ape Ltd Unit 6, Fornham Business Court, The Drift, Fornham St Martin, Bury St Edmunds, IP31 1SL. Ref Competition. Winner(s) must comply to the supervision and participation ratios.

 

3. To enter the Competition, you must be: (a) UK resident; and (b) 18 years old or over at the time of entry. We encourage parents/guardians to enter on behalf of their child.

 

4. Only one entry per child is permitted per creative, i.e. drawing and writing.

 

5. Employees of Go Ape or their family members or anyone else connected in any way with the Competition or helping to set up the Competition shall not be permitted to enter the Competition.

 

6. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this Competition.

 

7. Entry for the Competition is via the Go Ape website at www.goape.co.uk/adventure-stories and enter your details, upload your adventure story/picture. You can also enter an entry via post by sending it to Go Ape Ltd Creative Competition at Unit 6, Fornham Business Court, The Drift, Fornham St Martin, Bury St Edmunds, IP31 1SL. Postal entries are to be received by 11.59pm (GMT) on Monday 8th April 2019.

8. Submissions should be in one of the following formats: png, jpeg or pdf.

 

9. The Competition period starts 10.00am (GMT) on Thursday 7th March 2019 until 11.59pm (GMT) on Thursday 4th April 2019. No further entries will be accepted after 11.59pm (GMT) on the closing date.

 

10. No responsibility can be accepted for entries not fully received for whatever reason.

 

11. The Promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the Competition and these terms and conditions without notice in any event outside of the Promoter’s control. Any changes to the Competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the Promoter.

 

12. The Promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this Competition.

 

13. No cash alternative to the prizes will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.

 

14. Entrant(s) will be shortlisted in the following ways;

 

- Age category:

4 - 7 Years Old

8 – 12 years old

 

- Creative method entry:

Writing

Drawing

 

15. Entrant(s) will be shortlisted based on the following criteria; all entries should contain an adventure theme.

- Writing: Plot, Character Development, Use of Language and creativity.

- Drawing:  Content, Characters, Use of chosen media and creativity

 

16. The winner(s) will be notified by email within 28 days of the closing date. If a winner cannot be contacted or do not claim the prize within 14 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.

 

17. The winner(s)’ details may be passed on to third party companies who are collaborating with the Promoter in the campaign for the purpose of fulfilling the prize.

 

18. Any personal data submitted by the entrants or winner(s) will be treated in accordance with our Privacy Notice.

 

19. By entering this Competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.

 

20. The Competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by [English] law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of [England].
