Our Children's Writing Competition is back !
Pen's (or cursours) at the ready kids....Go Ape's Writing Competition is back by popular demand!
We’re calling on all kids aged 4-12 to amaze and inspire the furry Go Ape tribe, as well as the wider public, with their wonderful tales of adventure. And guess what? Every child who submits their story will be in with a chance of winning some tree-mendous goodies!
Ready, Steady, Write!
Little monkeys, let your creative juices flow far, wide and wild! The only rule is that it has to be about adventure – oh, and also 100-500 words long.
Maybe you recently went on an awesome adventure with your friends of family and you think that it would make a great story. Or perhaps you dreamt of an adventure one night and woke up thinking – “Wow, I want to do that!” It could even be that your mum, uncle or nan once told you about a super cool adventure they went on when they were younger and you’ve never forgotten it!
Make your story fact, make it fiction, make it a combo of the two, just remember to make it as adventure-filled as possible! We’re not talking a sprinkling of adventure, we mean a complete and utter soaking of the stuff!
what's up for grabs?
There are heaps of excellent prizes up for grabs, including a Go Ape adventure, your height in books from Macmillan Publishers, £200 Mini Boden vouchers (did someone say “new summer wardrobe?”) and a marvellous Micro Scooter.
But the prizes don’t stop there, oh no. There will be four winners chosen over four weeks, and every winner will enter a shortlist in a bid to win to greatest, grandest prize of them all: a family holiday worth over £5,000!
Entries are officially open – just head to the Adventure Stories page on our website where you can submit the story, as well as find stories from previous years if you’re in need of a little inspiration!
Stories have to be submitted between 12th March and 15th of April, with a winner chosen each week in each age category (ages 4-7 and 8-12).
With the Easter holidays just around the corner (yippee!), there will be plenty of opportunities for little monkeys to become wonderful wordsmiths and craft an adventurous story to inspire the nation! We guess all that’s left to say is: good luck, monkeys!
