scotland, are you ready?
Scotland, do you know what's coming up? A three-day weekend, that's what!
This Monday (1st August) is a bank holiday. And it's actually a really important bank holiday. Why? Well, itÃs the last one until St Andrew's Day on the 30th November! (*Sighs*)
Seeing as we have to wait almost four months to enjoy another bank holiday weekend, itÃs important to get out there and make the most of this one! We hope the sun will be making an appearance; but if it decides to hide behind a mass of thick, dark cloud, that shouldnÃt stop you from heading outdoors to embark on a few adventures!
Y'know where will be a good place to head this weekend? A forest! If itÃs sunny, you can tuck-in to a tasty picnic with your tribe, play a few rounds of rounders, and take shade under the trees if you need to. And if the weatherÃs a little glum, well, the canopy of the trees will provide shelter from whatever Mother Nature throws your way!
Of course, if youÃre taking a trip to the forest, you'd be crazy not to check out Scotland's number one forest adventure: Go Ape!
What better way to spend a day than by swinging through the trees, Tarzan-style, with the wind in your hair? Our award-winning Tree Top Adventure courses will take you high into the tree tops, where youÃll get to enjoy hours of canopy exploring and trailblazing!
Your adventure will see you taking on an array of forest-themed obstacles:
you'll wobble across bridges, crawl through tunnels, balance on wires and clamber across nets. You'll also get to impress your mates (and us) with your loudest and proudest holler as you leap from the platform on our infamous Tarzan swing! And you'll conclude your epic adventure by whizzing down a zip wire to land/collapse/fall into a mound of woodchip!
There are three Go Ape courses in Scotland, all of which can be found within a stone's throw of the country's major cities. If you live in or are visiting Glasgow, head to Go Ape in Aberfoyle's Queen Elizabeth Park (our very first course to open in Scotland, if you didn't know).
There's also Go Ape Peebleshire in the stunning Glentress Forest near Edinburgh, which is home to our highest zip wire (flying people over a beautiful reservoir nestled in the valley). And last but not least, you'll find a Go Ape set in the grounds of the historic Crathes Castle, near Aberdeen!
So, make the very most of this weekend by unleashing your inner Tarzan at Go Ape– See you in the trees!
