What gets your heart racing?

A discussion broke out amongst the Go Ape team; what gets your heart racing the most on a forest adventure?

We couldn't decide, so we popped you an e-mail and put the kettle on.
Thanks for joining the discussion; we'll let you know the results once they're in.

In the meantime, check out some little-known fun facts about our adventures below.

Hitting the Heights

A woman climbing a rope ladder.

To push your head for heights to the max on a Go Ape adventure, you'll need to head north, to Scotland, to be precise.

Go Ape Aberfoyle is home to the highest platform in the country, a whopping 22 metres, or 72 feet about the forest floor. That's before the valley drops away beneath you, which it does and leaves even the bravest soul a little unnerved.

Soaring Down Zip Wires

A group of four people riding the quad zip wires at Go Ape Chessington

We reckon adventures are best when shared, and we know many of you think our zips are the best.

It was a no-brainer to combine those two and create our only quadruple zip wire at Go Ape Chessington.

Book your Tribe for our Treetop Challenge, and you can ride side-by-side with three of your gang.

Leaps of Faith

A woman rinding a Go Ape TarzAn Swing into a cargo net

Many people in our Tribe refer to our Tarzan Swings as the leap of faith, as you've got to have a fair bit of confidence to step off that platform. On that note, please step, don't leap!

Another question we're asked a lot is, 'what happens if I can't climb the net?' Fear not; one of our lovely instructors will be right on hand to bring down an extra rope. You'll clip this to your harness, and they will help you to the platform.

So now there is no excuse for not taking a deep breath and going for it!

REACHING TOp SPEED

A group of people riding Go Ape Segways

We're often asked if it's possible to hire our Segways and head off into the forest alone.

We love your spirit of adventure, but unfortunately, the answer is 'no', we only offer instructor-led sessions.

A top tip, though, if you're after that solo ride experience; head to our locations at Bracknell, Crawley or Thetford.

Here we operate a freeride experience where, after your training, our instructors will lead you to some bespoke Segway trails in the forest. You can then explore whilst they keep watch from the 'hub'.
