The first Go Ape! Tree Top Adventure to be set in the grounds of a magnificent country house hotel, our outdoor adventure is nestled within one of the UK’s most un-spoilt areas of natural beauty. And you will get to appreciate it all from the forest canopy.

Lap up some of the finest scenery in Matfen’s 300 acres of historic parkland and enjoy a tree-mendous day out.

We're open from February to November, but we close our forest doors during December and January (...it gets a little chilly and we like to maintain our adventures so they're all ready to go in 2012).

Weekends in February and March

23rd March – 30th October daily.

Closed Tuesday and Wednesday (during term time).

Weekends only throughout November.

there was 4 in our party and we all enjoyed it very much and will be doing it again in the new year .The staff at matfen were very good

zip wires are excellent, the sites that have 3 or more really challenging bits are great such as the trapzee rings for you feet, hard work but excellent. the staff could not be faulted and kept everyone in check without spoiling any fun!

AMAZING!!! so very scary but so amazing, the fear factor was immense. I went with my partner and my 12 year old son on 26th nov 2011 and we are already planning a large group visit as many of our friends wanted our feedback before booking. The zip ropes are fab and i'd probably like to try it when its not so windy then i may not tree hug so much.

Zip wires and tarzan swing were the best bits, maybe a little higher for more of a thrill, and a few more courses. overall though a great day!

It was an undescribable experience, I was so frightened but the adrenilin kept me going.... I'm so proud that I completed it. Perfect amount of time to get round, even if a little nervous like myself! LOVED every minute! GREAT value for money! GREAT fun! GREAT experience! ..... even in the wind :) THANKS FOR A GREAT DAY!
