Take a look at what some of our tribe have said about their time in the forest. It’s always good to hear it straight from the Gorilla’s mouth (…and we’re proud to say it’s totally unedited!) And why not have a peek at what people are saying about us on Trip Advisor.

Bitterly disappointed. Family Group of 12 of us, adults had to participate (ie. pay) with teenagers 14-15 yrs old even though a child of 10 found the Go Ape tree course a doddle, both from a skill and safety perspective. Queues throughout the tree top course, flow of customers not well managed with a bottleneck at the end meaning we skipped the last section of the course. Good was wildly overpriced, £3 for a cold hot dog that without even the options of onions! Very few bins provided to dispose of rubbish, and expensive car parking, pay machines taking too much money, only to find the entrance gates were raised, a waste of a further £25 ontop of the £200 we'd already spent. These activities are half the price in France, for a similar course but better experience. 3 families left feeling wholeheartedly let down on Easter Monday, and genuinely exploited. Sadly a family rip-off experience to forget.

We arrived early as stated on the website and we were informed where to go once our time was due and the staff was very helpful. The safety talk was excellent and our guide was Alice who was excellent with our son who was scared of the height of the course but with her patience he gained his confidence and by the end of the first section was doing everything by himself . So we would like to thank Alice for helping with him and making our day one to remember because even though it was raining all day we didn't notice until the very end and when we then realised how wet we were but it didn't matter as the day was fab!!! We will be returning on a dry day hopefully !!!

I booked the tree top adventure as an Easter treat for my youngest daughter. She is nearly 11 and when measured at home was exactly 140cm. She was very excited but left feel very upset and despondent due to the care free attitude from all on the day. Initially the Moors valley site was not allowing any cars into the site due to it being full. I had to negotiate with chap on the gate to let me drive the 1.5 miles from the entrance to the car park as I had booked and paid for the Go ape tree top adventure. On arrival at go ape the chap said hello and asked very directly for my daughter to go and stand by the measuring chart, all from behind the counter in the hut. Then announced in a very matter of fact way, sorry not tall enough you can't do the tree top course due to health and safety. Aside from being indiscreet and very poor customer service announcing this to the gathered crowd in the queue, I did take issue with the fact and expressed my annoyance, stating that to me, she reached the mini mum height exactly. He disagreed and offered two options. A full refund or transfer to the junior go ape. As we had travelled to the site and would have to pay the car park charges, we reluctantly transferred to the go ape junior, being assured that the difference would be refunded. On completion of the junior go ape in about 30 mins, we went back to the cabin to get the our certificates and I then enquirer to whether the refund had been completed. To then be told, oh no sorry I've not had time let me see what I can do in a couple of minutes. Unacceptable service, that eventually ended up with me purchasing a tshirt for my daughter and the chap stating that he'll calculate the difference and get the difference posted to me. I am not convinced he even remembered my name or booking to princess the refund. He was only interested in taking the next booking. So overall my experience was very poor and I a currently out of pocket having paid £56 and not been allowed to complete the activity. I will not be recommending go ape to my friends and family. I understand the health and safety concerns of the minimum height, but if indeed she was 1cm to small there are much better ways of dealing with this issue than what I experienced this week.

The staff at moors valley were very friendly and helpful. I took four children to enjoy the tree top junior and all had a great time, even the most timid who was encouraged by staff..excellent caring support, thank you! Four very confident and proud children with their certificates fell to sleep on our journey home, yay.
