Winner of Suffolk Tourism Awards – Best Tourism Experience 2011

The original and still the best. Set in the heart of Britain’s largest lowland pine forest, our first ever course is centred around 30 miles of bike and walking trails from which to explore 50,000 acres of forest. And the mother of all our courses features our classic Tree Top Adventure, Forest Segways and Tree Top Junior.

Our Tree Top Adventure features a NEW Tarzan Swing, back-to-back black crossings (don’t worry, they’re optional!) and an Alpine zip (that goes from tree to tree). Now that’s worth shouting from the tree tops!

And the adventure does not need to stop there. You can get off the beaten track and enjoy our forest adventure with Go Ape Forest Segway – an epic experience with a down to earth twist.

And Thetford Forest is also home to our Tree Top Junior Adventure for Mini Tarzans. Release your little monkeys onto a Go Ape course designed for them. No one loves adventure more than kids!

Take a look at what some of our tribe have said about their time in the forest. It’s always good to hear it straight from the Gorilla’s mouth (…and we’re proud to say it’s totally unedited!) And why not have a peek at what people are saying about us on Trip Advisor.

Found it challenging in places but really glad that we did it. Loved the zip-wires more than anything else. I did it with my 11 year old son. He enjoyed it too, felt a real sense of achievement getting to the end when some of the adults in our time-slot dropped out. Only problem in an otherwise perfect evening was the fact that my son struggled with the last Tarzan swing, leaving him very nervous and tired for the last few sections. I had to nurse him through with a group of non English speaking children (under 16) pressurising us from behind. I could not see an adult with them and at several points I had to shout at them to stop so that we did not have more than three people on a platform. They were also going two at the same time on the ropes. There was no evidence of an adult with them or a member of staff anywhere near to ask for help from. I was quite cross and my son was close to tears at this. I was very relieved to get to the end of the course. Nevertheless we were glad to have had the experience and would do it again.

Despite that fact that we got held up on the course by less experienced "Apes" and it was almost 9pm by the time we hit the road home the GoApe staff were wonderfully encouraging and helped keep everyone happy and swinging in the trees.

Have now been on Tree Top Adventure and Junior. First time was nearly 20years a go and loved it then and just recently on the junior with my daughter, who loved every minute and wants to go again and take a friend as well. What i liked about it all was it is an adventure i can do with my daughter and enjoy it just as much as she did, while being able to spend quility time with her.

My sister in law and I took five teenagers to Go Ape during a wet camping trip to Thetford. We booked at the kiosk and were told we needed to be there 15 minutes before the session started which was at 3.00 the following day.We duly arrived at around 2.40 and filled in relevant paper work and were then told to stand under the wooden shelter. After around 30 mins of hanging around and no one even acknowledging we were there we were a bit bored. I think the site was busy and running late but just a 'hello, we'll be with you soon' would have been appreciated.Once the kids got underway though they had a really great time, the staff were very friendly and encouraging, particularly our children's leader who was called Steve. My sister in law and I followed the action from the ground (as we had two dogs with us) so we had a great view of proceedings as they worked their way around the course. I thought it was nice that we could do this as it meant we still felt involved and the dogs were happy not to be stuck in the car!The group in front of our children's was very slow and there was quite a lot of bottlenecks, in particular at the Tarzan wire towards the end which meant that instead of the predicted 2 - 2.1/2 hours to go round in they didn't finish until nearly 7pm. The staff were aware of this and did try very hard to get people moving, towards the end there was a member of staff at nearly every point which certainly helped. We had planned to get celebratory tea and cakes when they'd finished the course but obviously by now everything was closed and then to add insult to injury the car parking cost £11 for each of our cars which is excessive when we'd already paid over £150 to use the facility. However, overall a good day out which I would thoroughly recommend!
