Feedback from Alice Holt Forest

Take a look at what some of our tribe have said about their time in the forest. It’s always good to hear it straight from the Gorilla’s mouth (…and we’re proud to say it’s totally unedited!) And why not have a peek at what people are saying about us on Trip Advisor.

We took our 2 grandsons aged 9 and 11 for the second time, the last being 1 year ago to GoApe at Alice Holt. The staff are always really helpful and they chat to the children in a really friendly way calling them "buddy" . The boys had a great time and I like the way all the safety points are explained in a clear manner and then they are "tested" to make sure they have taken it all in. All in all they had an awesome(!) time and we bought them the hoodies to prove it. Many thanks and as the boys said " we'll be back"

The course was brilliant and so was the instructor teaching us how to use all the cables. However a few things were disappointing. When we arrived, we stood at the desk which had 4 people behind it (one was serving people already) we stood at the left desk and a blonde girl another girl and a guy were stood gossiping. They didn't look at us for a few minutes whilst we were stood right in front of them. This was very rude. They then got us to sign something but whilst doing so were still gossiping. It was my boyfriends birthday and so this wasn't the best welcome to go ape! Also, on your website it said you could buy a holdall for £2.50 for your phone so take it up the trees with you, but when i asked the blonde girl she knew nothing about them. So i couldn't take photos. Your safety disclaimer contradicts your website re. phones on the course. Then we had a safety briefing which was very good. Again, the young people in the check in desk kept trying to put their colleague giving the induction, off by radioing him obscurities. He luckily then turned his radio down. Then we did the course which was brilliant, highly enjoyable. There were no staff around from stage 2 onwards which was ok with us but maybe wouldn't be if you were in trouble or scared at all. Enjoyable time up in the trees but not a great impression on the ground. First impressions count.

This is not a high risk activity as the safety advice is great and the staff are safety conscious. Follow the advice and this is the best day out. Great activity and such fun for all ages. love it and will be back

Online booking didn't work and then you tried to charge extra to book by phone…very unfriendly.Safety brief rattled off without thought and without getting the message to the young children so the whole point of the briefing is lost unless its just to get GoApe off the hook in case of an incident. We had a 6 and a 7 year old grandchildren with us so having adults running around the course was very off-putting. Various groups of older children travelling as groups without heed to 3 to a platform and 2 to a traverse was also a problem.Treerunners seem to have a better course that is restricted to young children and better supervised.Pity not to have a coffee/soda facility at the hut

The relief of getting to the zip because you can rest on the way down. I would like to encourage all those with a disability to have a go. I have one hand and although tough at times especially at 64 the sense of achievement was great. It is value for money my only observation would be that under 16 participants have to be accompanied therefore a lower cost for this pairing should be considered . I am confident that you would get more custom.
