Delamere Forest

Near Chester

Winner of Cheshire Tourism Awards – Best Tourism Experience.

Our adventure at Delamere Forest is simply stunning. It’s not far from Chester and you’ll get to take in the beautiful scenery around Blakemere Lake (and its wildlife).

The classic and original Go Ape Tree Top Adventure experience. We’ll brief you for safety before you fly down our zip-wires, leap off our Tarzan Swing and tackle our crossings whilst enjoying some of Britain’s most breathtaking scenery. Life’s so much more fun when you’re jumping off a tree-top platform into a cargo net.

And the adventure does not need to stop there. You can get off the beaten track and enjoy our latest forest adventure with Go Ape Forest Segway – an epic experience with a down to earth twist.

And Delamere Forest is also home to our Tree Top Junior Adventure for Mini Tarzans. Release your little monkeys onto a Go Ape course designed for them. No one loves adventure more than kids!

By car

“Due to our rural location we recommend that you do not use sat nav or GPS systems to locate our course, however if you feel it will aid your journey, please use the postcode CW8 2JD or head for ‘Delamere Railway Station’ on Station Road.    Go Ape will be signposted from here and is only a few minutes away (depending on the make and model of your Sat Nav!).”

If you're following our direction from our friends "google" they will try to send you down Farm Lane. Please ignore this and continue down to Station Road (which is the next main road on the right).

Follow the road down towards the main car park near the cafe, once parked, walk back up the road you just drove down heading towards the railway station.  Turn left over the railway bridge and Go Ape will be on the right hand side in the forest.

Weekends & School Holidays:

Follow the yellow Go Ape parking signs into the car park next to the train station, once parked, walk back towards the houses taking the smaller path into the forest on your right.  Then at the bridge turn right over the railway bridge and down towards our cabin.
Please note: It will normally only take 5-10 minutes to get to the cabin from the car park, but it can take a little longer during peak times, there are no toilets at the cabin, toilets are located in all car parks and by the cafe.

Parking costs £4 for 3 hours or £6 for all day (coins only) giving you plenty of time to refuel at the cafe or to continue to live life adventurously on one of the ape-tastic walking or biking trails that Delamere has to offer

By train

Delamere Railway Station is a Cheshire Best Kept Station and has won two awards in the Cheshire Best Kept Station Competition.
Here’s the best bit - it is only a 5 minute walk away, giving the perfect opportunity to not only help the environment but also warm up those muscles and get the blood pumping!  Once you have arrived at the Station, take an immediate right into the forest following the path and you will see our Go Ape shelter and cabin on the right hand side in the forest.
For train times please see Northern Rail or call 0845 00 00 125.

Feedback from Delamere Forest

Take a look at what some of our tribe have said about their time in the forest. It’s always good to hear it straight from the Gorilla’s mouth (…and we’re proud to say it’s totally unedited!) And why not have a peek at what people are saying about us on Trip Advisor.

Rated 5 Bananas Jayne - Tree Top Junior, on 2 August 2015
My son loved the more difficult parts and the zip wire. He would have a liked an even more challenging part.
Rated 5 Bananas Laura - Tree Top Junior, on 2 August 2015
My 3 monkeys who took on the Go Ape Junior challenge were 10, 8 & 7 and all had different confidence levels. 10 y/o ended up completing the course on her own, which made her feel very independent & keen to give the bigger course a go. 8 & 7 y/o stuck together, 8 y/o was very apprehensive to begin with & we weren't sure she would do it but she was boosted with confidence by the instructors and had a great time! 7y/o is the most fearless. She almost swung through the trees, fell off a couple of times (which was no problem, as she was safe and secure in her harness so just got back on again!) and just loved every minute! Thanks to everyone for giving them such a great experience.
Rated 5 Bananas Maria - Tree Top Adventure, Tree Top Junior, on 2 August 2015
You should be extremely proud of the people that work for you particularly today on the junior tree top adventure. Our son is autistic he appeared to be struggling at the beginning your staff talked him through and were on hand if needed . Also today there were a number of people struggling ie with nerves or afraid the staff went up and talked them though. This is fantastic as it gave the young people a sense of achievement we very often give up and encourage our children to give up if they don't achieve.tjis was so so good for their self esteem . My only criticism was I had watched Ben Fogle on daytime TV and entered a competition won a discount only to be told I couldn't use it at weekends & bank holidays,if we are encouraging our young people to be more active and have family days out ,these generally would be at weekends and cost can sometimes prohibit parents doing these things.

Instructors were very good and patient, niece didn't fancy the zip wire, they brought her down no problems, no fuss made. Really nice guys
