Old Pale Trail

A challenging circular walk.

A haven for wildlife and nature, you’ll be stopping regularly to grab your camera and take in the stunning scenery. Be sure to make use of the benches dotted around this route to soak it all in. Or to take a breather after embarking up the steep gradient along this trail that makes it a more challenging route.

There is a shortcut back to the car park halfway around the loop.

Your reward at the top? Enormous skies and an endless view. At the viewpoint, you’ll find seven standing stones, each representing one of the counties that can be seen from the top of the hill.

Linmere Trail

Perfect for families.

A pleasant and gentle stroll that takes you through the nicest parts of Delamere, without venturing too far into the forest.

Kids will love the Gruffalo sculptures along this route, the much-loved character from the childrens book by Julia Donaldson.

You’ll also venture past part of Blakemore Moss.

Blakemere Trail

Ideal for wildlife lovers.


Take a tranquil walk through mature trees and Blakemere Moss, a lake where you can find the perfect spot for bird watching. An adaptable walk for all weather conditions as you can utilise the trees to offer plenty of shade from the sun, or shelter from the rain! Not to mention, this woodland area has an array of beautiful rich forest colours and sounds.
