  • It was terrifying at first, but actually, the proper training and preparation kicked in. The crossings were challenging but more easily achieved than expected. I was looking after 2 10yos which added to the tension, but they had listened and were sensible and competent and safe even if sometimes fixing onto pulleys was a stretch. It was less physically demanding than I expected, even climbing the rope ladders wasn't as hard as I thought they would be. It wasn't wholly enjoyable for the first time, too many things to take in and cope with. I suspect the 2nd time will be easier but not sure that's going to happen for me!
