Blackburn, Lancashire

We’re currently closed but can’t wait to welcome you back in February 2025! Bookings are open now. If you can’t wait for your Go Ape adventure, our Delamere Forest, Rivington and Temple Newsam locations are open on select days over winter.

Go Ape Blackburn is the first standalone location for young explorers. This thrill-seekers paradise will feature two of your favourite high-ropes experiences, Treetop Adventure and Treetop Adventure Plus.

Perfect for little ones over 1m tall just stepping up into the treetops or more cautious explorers, these hour-long adventures are filled with tricky tree-to-tree crossings, zip lines and more.

Plus, the 480-acre Witton Park is filled with nature trails, picnic spots and play areas so it’s an ideal day out for the family.

Looking for an even bigger adventure? Check out Treetop Challenge at nearby Go Ape Rivington for participants over 1.4m tall and 10 years.

Things to do at Witton Country Park

Located in Blackburn, Witton Country Park is a picturesque 480-acre estate which is peppered with pretty picnic spots, walks, nature trails, play areas and a visitor centre providing an ideal day out for all the family. The estate was once owned by the Feilden family, who built and lived in Witton House (1800 - 1946) and created the park at the same time.

Witton Country Park is the starting point of the Weaver’s Way. Also known as ‘The Way’, the 32-mile long distance walking trail passes landmarks such as the grade II listed Silk Hall, Pleasington Priory, and as the name suggests, weaver’s cottages. The landscape is picturesque, featuring reservoirs, valleys, woodland and views across the Pennine Moors.

Weaver’s Way can be tackled over a couple of days, or smaller circuit walks can be completed in isolation. Why not take in a section of the trail after your Go Ape high ropes adventure?

Finally, Witton Park also hosts some of the borough’s biggest events of the year too, including Restricted Rocks and Restricted Forest.
