Sundown Sessions at Go Ape Glentress Forest

Zip over reservoirs in the ever-increasing darkness this year as part of Sundown Sessions at Go Ape Glentress Forest, Peebles.

Do you dare take on Zip Line Experience and its two daunting zip wires? Including the massive 325metres long zip? It's also 48m high, so adding sundown into the mix will send your senses into overdrive!

Challenge yourself to a Sundown Session this year.

What and when can I book?

Zip Line Experience: 

  • October (Fridays and Saturdays, excluding Saturday 2nd October): After 17:30
  • November (Fridays and Saturdays): After 16:30
  • 3rd - 18th December (Fridays and Saturdays): After 16:00
  • 27th - 29th December: After 16:00

How do I book?

1. Click the ‘book now’ button at the top of your screen.
2. Choose your preferred location and chosen activity 
3. Select your date and time, Sundown Sessions usually start after 5pm, but times can vary by site.
4. From here, follow the usual check-out process, but be quick as spaces are limited!


The gateway to the Tweed Valley Forest Park, you’ll find Glentress Forest an hour's drive south of Edinburgh. It’s a mecca for mountain bikers who flock to the award-winning trails. Based on the side of a hill, the dramatic views, which change with the seasons, are more than worth the climb.

There are over 50-miles of purpose-built mountain bike trails at Glentress. Some of the best trails in the country include Green, Blue, Red or Black graded trails, as well as a magnificent multi-graded free-ride area. Bring your bikes or there’s bike hire available.

It’s not just mountain biking the area is renowned for. Take to the walking trails and explore this beautiful part of the country which offers varied wildlife and a rich history. There are five fantastic walking trails of varying levels of difficulty plus options for horse-riding and orienteering.

Head over to the Wild Watch Centre which has live feeds from various cameras placed around the forest allowing you to view osprey, pond life, bees and birds. In need of refuelling? The Glentress Peel Café serves delicious snacks and refreshments.

Know Before You Go

  • Wear sensible clothes for adventure.

  • Footwear must be sturdy and suitable for the outdoors. No sandals, slip off shoes, open toes or heels.
  • Gloves are a good idea. Either bring a pair or you can buy them at the cabin on the day.
  • Go Ape Glentress Forest operates as a cashless site, only cards payments can be accepted.

Make A Day of It

  • Bring or hire bikes and try one of the award-winning mountain bike trails.  
  • Head over to the Tweed Valley Wild Watch Centre.
  • Bring your trainers or walking boots and explore the beautiful landscape.
  • Treat yourself to some delicious refreshments in the Glentress Peel Café.
