What is Treetop Adventure?

Treetop Adventure is a one to two hour Lake District high ropes course for children over 1m tall.

And what a jam-packed high ropes activity for kids it is, too; full of intricate crossings, wobbly bridges and a zip wire finale - guaranteed to evoke screams and laughter. They will tackle tree to tree crossings on 2-3 different loops (depending on the location) with a zip wire to bring you back down onto the forest floor at the end of each loop. Whether you're swinging by their side in the trees or cheering them on from below, you'll be amazed at how much taller they'll walk after conquering the course.

In this video, you will get a flavour of the activity as we feature the critical parts of the high ropes course, including:

  • Safety briefing
  • Training section
  • The various loops, including treetop crossings and zip wires

One participating adult (18+) to supervise up to two children aged under 6 while on the course.

Participants are required to move their own safety line. Under 6's must have a supervising adult up on the course with them.

Such a fantastic experience for all the family. We did the junior tree top adventure and it was perfect for our 7 year old adrenaline junkie! Really friendly helpful staff especially Leah and Ross. Would definitely recommend Go Ape Grizedale.

Great day! We did the tree top junior with two 8 year olds. One needed a bit of extra help early on and the staff were great, built her confidence and by the end we couldn’t keep her off it. You get an hour to go round as many times as you can, I think we did about six loops. There are three routes to choose from with a zip slide at the end of every one. Great setting if a little tricky to get to on some narrow roads. All in all a great family day out.

My daughter (8) and I thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Grizedale Go Ape. On a beautiful sunny day, attentive and happy staff (who actually seemed to enjoy their job) greated is on arrival and were very helpful throughout the hour we spend scrambling around 3 levels of tree top fun. Each level completed one after the other and the rest of the time spent on whatever level suits the individuals preference! All very safe and I’d recommend for all with or without climbing experience although if you’re scared of heights you may want to think twice!

Best thing the girls have done. We took the girls for an afternoon out and they really enjoyed it. The staff were really good.
