Our only Treetop Challenge in Wales and we’ve made it a spectacular one! Get ready to take a leap of faith on the UK’s biggest Tarzan Swing - It will have you free falling for a massive six metres! With obstacle cross overs and zips up to 180m, you really will get a stomach in your mouth feeling. This course has been likened to a roller coaster in the trees. It’s the only Go Ape which boasts sea views and with over 1,000-acres of parkland, the largest deer herd in Wales, you’ve got yourself a serious aerial adventure.

go ape adventures at margam

Just off of the M4, you will find Go Ape in Margam Country Park. Feel the excitement and anticipation build as you walk past the impressive Margam Castle on your way to the course.

With its hilly location, the views are stunning – hit the high platforms and soak up the beautiful sea view (the only such view throughout our Go Ape network.) The park is home to the largest deer herd in Wales – with 6,000 calling Margam their home you will probably see some from your treetop vantage points.

Margam Park is awash with activities. Head out for a leisurely stroll or serious hikers can venture to the scenic mountain tops. Bring or hire bikes and enjoy the five-mile mountain bike trail. If this isn’t for you, Margam Adventure has hire activities including Pedlows, Go Karts and SUP. For that much-needed break, our onsite café has refreshments.

Children won’t know where to start! Take your pick from the children’s fairy-tale village, farm trail or the adventure playground. Head over to the ‘Wood Vibrations Trail', a series of giant musical instruments made from felled trees – grab a stick and bang out a tune!

  • Parking in Margam Country Park is £6 for the day, bring some change.
  • Go Ape is a 15 minute walk (up a hill!) from the car park so be prepared and allow plenty of time.
  • Take advantage of our late sessions on a Thursday night!

Make A Day of It

  • Explore Margam Castle's Great Hall.
  • Walk up to the Pulpit viewpoint for excellent views over Devon, Somerset, Gower Peninsula and Glamorgan Heritage Coast.
  • Take the children to visit the animals on the farm trail.
  • Visit Charlotte’s Pantry Café for a hot drink and some food.
  • We also have an outdoor clothing shop!
  • Visit Margam Adventure to hire your activity equipment of choice.
  • Great family fun. It is essential to have a confident, capable adult to supervise under 16's as you are pretty much left to your own devices once you leave the training area. This is made clear on the website but assistance is never far away if needed. Groups are small and you can take your time around the course. Excellent value for money. Our two twelve year olds had a wonderful three hours. The instructor John was clear and fully demonstrated use of safety equipment. Staff supervised the first few challenges.

  • Not quite thrilling enough for my desires, but I'm probably not all there in the head. Definitely fun and worth going at least once. Will be recommending to friends but perhaps a tad steep in price for what you get. The instructor Josh and other staff members we met were great with a good sense of humour which is always appreciated.

  • Brilliant fun, thoroughly enjoyed and the staff was really friendly and helpful. Highly recommend if your looking for something different to do
