HIGH ROPES IN SUSSEX

Crawley Go Ape is located in Tilgate Park, 162 hectares to the south of Crawley. The park is jammed packed with things to do once you set your feet down on terra firma.

Have a breather and refuel in the Walled Garden café, before heading out to explore the heritage parkland and Nature Centre.

You’ll find beautiful lawns, lakes, heather gardens and a Peace Garden. Go and say hello to the animals in the Nature Centre which is home to mongoose, meerkats, reindeers and otters, to name but a few.

A large children’s play area overlooks the lake and you can hire family boats (rowing boats, canoes and double sit on top kayaks) or single boats (stand up paddle boards and sit on top kayaks) if you’d like to get out and about on the lake.

Up for more? There’s walking routes and cycle routes if you’d like to explore the beautiful parkland a little further.

Sit back and relax by the water’s edge if you fancy trying your hand at angling but if swinging a club is more your thing, then head over to the golf course.

THINGS TO DO IN CRAWLEY

  • Wear sensible clothes for adventure.
  • Footwear must be sturdy and suitable for the outdoors. No sandals, slip off shoes, open toes or heels.
  • Gloves are a good idea. Either bring a pair or you can buy them at the cabin on the day.

MAKE A DAY OF IT

  • Hire a boat and head out on to the lake.
  • Bring a bike to go further afield in the parkland.
  • Head over to the golf course to see who’s best at the tricky putting.
  • Get close to nature in the Nature Centre.

  • A must do for anyone!! What an amazing experience. The feeling of flying through the air is unbelievable!! Our instructor was very thorough and put us at ease right from the start. I would recommend this to anyone!!

  • Fab day out, great staff and so much fun!

    Fiona Marshall

  • The guys were fantastic at taking time to explain how everything worked and were on-hand if you needed them. I was responsible for a 14-year-old and after the induction I had no worries at all about his or my safety. The course is great with loads of variations for getting between the trees and we're looking forward to getting back for another go. Highly recommended.

  • Excellent day out with the wife.

  • Staff were very knowledgeable and friendly, and supportive when I repeatedly flopped trying to climb the first rope ladder. It was a little too much for me, but they issued a refund without me even needing to ask. Husband however had a great day swinging through the trees like a pro, very recommended day out.
