Forest Sidecars

Let’s be honest: your dog has mastered the art of the "guilt trip." That mournful look as you head out for a forest adventure is enough to dampen even the brightest trail ride.

For years, our Tribe have asked for a way to share the rush of the forest floor with their most loyal companions, without worrying about tired legs or tangled leads.

Well, we’ve finally cracked it. It’s time to stop choosing between your love for the great outdoors and your best mate. Today, we’re levelling the playing field. We’re stoked to introduce the Forest Segway Sidecar.

CANINE COMPATIBLE

It’s taken two years in the making (that’s 14 in dog years) but we’ve bridged the gap between two wheels and four legs. Our new sidecar attachments clip seamlessly onto any of our two-wheeled, self-balancing, electric vehicles, providing a comfortable, and undeniably stylish ride for your four-legged friend.

Go Ape’s “Top Dog” and Head of Innovation, Jack Russell, has been working tirelessly on this ground-breaking tech, "The development of the Forest Sidecar wasn't just about attaching a seat to a Segway; it was about engineering a stable, vibration-dampening environment that respects a dog’s natural centre of gravity and sensory needs. We went through dozens of prototypes to ensure the transition from pavement to forest floor was seamless for both rider and passenger ."

He went on to say “There were moments during testing where we questioned if the technology was ready for the unpredictable nature of the trail. But seeing the pure engagement of a dog experiencing the forest at speed for the first time made the years of R&D worth it.”

READY TO TAKE THE LEAD?

Experience the next evolution of the forest floor. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a first-time explorer, the Forest Sidecar is designed to bring you and your dog closer to nature than ever before. Spaces are limited as we roll this brand-new experience out.

Story Competition Winners Hannah - hannahparker1209@gmail.com I remember this so well. My daughter had been battling with a really tough time at school. Lots of anxiety, not wanting to go and really battling with herself in wanting to go and just couldn't. It was a Sunday and she was getting upset all day about the prospect of the next day. I saw an advert on Facebook about the sunset sessions, so I decided to book it for me and her to do together, get out and have some fresh air. We visited the Chelmsford one and it was just so beautiful, little fairy lights everywhere and lighted garden bulbs around the trees. It was magical. What was even more magical was it enabled my daughter Lola to just escape for 2 hours, to laugh, to forget everything and laugh at her poor old mum going so slow and holding on for dear life! We have now made it our thing to go every year on the Sunday nearest her birthday and we just have the best time! Nick - nickkblamo@aol.com I think my story is a story of pride. I went to the Delamere Go Ape with my 70-year-old father, my brother and my sister-in-law. My sister-in-law was petrified but still she faced her fears. When we got to the part where you jump off into the net[Tarzan Swing], she was going to miss it out, but then she decided to face the biggest fear. I went first, then her, then my dad and brother. It took her a while to be able to jump, and she was visibly undermining herself, but eventually she did jump. She clung to the net on the other side and froze. Again, we encouraged her to face her fear and climb. I held her hand and talked her up. I was so very proud of her, we all were….and this isn’t even taking into account how proud I was that my dad was not restricted by his age. It’s a testament to not letting fears or age restrict you. We had such a great time, and I can’t wait to do it again. Olly - olly-roy@hotmail.co.uk It had been over a year since I saw my sister. Life got in the way, and I never made the effort to go and connect with her. But one day we decided to make it happen - she came to London and I surprised her by booking Go Ape at Battersea! It was sensational. What surprised her even more, was when I chose the Xtreme route and made her follow me. I really did see a different side of her up in the trees. I hope she won't mind me sharing but tears were involved. Alot of tears. We cried through it, got to the end! And we're closer than ever! A day we won't forget! Wendy - knowltonsmith@btinternet.com Myself and my friends did Go Ape for my hen weekend and absolutely loved it. We stayed at a bunkhouse near Windermere and did the course at Grizedale fully kitted out in spider girl costumes. This included my Mum, and as one person had to drop out, my Dad came along as an honorary spider girl too, complete with skintight jumpsuit, mask and boots. The photos swinging through the trees were fabulous and it was a great memory to look back on. We have two children now who are dying to try out the courses once they are old enough! Stacey - staceysargeant9@gmail.com For our 10th wedding anniversary, we decided to trade a traditional dinner for the treetops, and it was the perfect way to mark a decade together. Taking on the Treetop Challenge at Go Ape definitely pushed us out of our comfort zone, especially when faced with those wobbling bridges and the daunting Tarzan Swings. There’s no better way to reconnect than cheering each other on from forty feet up; it turned a milestone celebration into a high-adrenaline bonding session that was heaps of fun. Scaling those heights reminded us that even after ten years, we can still surprise each other, leaving us with a massive sense of achievement and a shared memory that feels far more ""us"" than a fancy restaurant ever could.
