In October 2021, Go Ape founders Rebecca and Tristram Mayhew transferred 90% of the business into an Employee Ownership Trust — putting the company in the hands of its people. The remaining 10% is retained by the founders.

Since our first adventure in 2002, we’ve grown into a multi-award-winning forest business with 36 locations across Great Britain, welcoming over a million customers each year and employing more than 1,000 people.

Celebrating Employee Ownership

We marked our first Employee Ownership Day in June 2022 by being recognised among the UK’s top 50 employee-owned businesses.

As proud members of the Employee Ownership Association, we also sit on the Board of Trustees — helping to champion this way of doing business and supporting others on their journey to employee ownership.
