The AdventureMind Grant

We’re driven by our aim to help more people access adventure. In fact, our mission is to encourage everyone to live life more adventurously. We do this every day through our thrilling outdoor experiences, and have been for over 20 years, through the Go Ape Foundation (launched in 2024) and through working with experts like Belinda Kirk and supporting the AdventureMind Grant.

AdventureMind is a collaboration of outdoor leaders, researchers, health practitioners, universities, adventure charities and companies. They believe in the benefits that adventure has on our confidence, resilience, relationships, purpose and overall wellbeing. They therefore want to make such challenges more accessible, and that’s where our support comes in.

What is the AdventureMind Grant?

The AdventureMind Grant helps make adventures possible for individuals, families and small teams. As well as funds, winners of the grant also get access to help and advice from our team and an expert partner. In 2025, it was supported by AdventureMind, The Helen Davis Family Foundation and us here at Go Ape.

Working with Belinda Kirk

"The way I define adventure is a chosen challenge.”

We’re thrilled to work with outdoor and adventure experts, just like Belinda. She’s the founder of AdventureMind. She has led adventures for 30 years and witnessed first-hand the power it has to change people’s lives.

"Adventuring is an essential part of being human, it's one of the best ways to feel most alive. And that's why I think it's so good for us." - Belinda Kirk (Explorer, Speaker, Author - 2025 Ted Talk)

Winners of the AdventureMind Grant and a Go Ape Experience 2025

  • Clare Haverty and her daughter will be taking on the Three Peaks Challenge, split over different weekends, in memory of her husband and her daughter’s father, and to raise money for a local cancer charity.
  • Tom Mallon and staff at their school will be taking their kids with special needs white water rafting. Mallon hopes they will experience the same joy he did and have a memory for life.
  • Zaynab Jogi will run a residential retreat for underprivileged women from the BAME community to provide them with a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where they can focus on their well-being, personal growth, and community connection. The residential aims to give participants a renewed sense of self-belief and motivation.
  • Fiona Forster and 'Women on the Water' will be going on a sailing trip along the Northumberland coastline for up to five days. Forster wants to share her belief that adventure can inspire and make you believe anything is possible.
  • Caroline Clements on behalf of her friends has planned some much needed and well-earned time outdoors that the parents and adventurous two kids will love.
  • Multiple winners also received a Go Ape Experience.

This year’s winners have a helping hand if they need it from expert and mentor, Jude Kriwald.
