It’s an epic year-long adventure that has taken Steve and Joy from the South Coast of England to the woodland of Wales to the stunning scenery of Scotland, taking on the challenge of our epic high ropes at every spot. What started out as a date with a difference became a year-long challenge to visit every Go Ape nationwide. 

Their year of adventure rounded off on 22^nd March at our incredible location in Whinlatter Forest. Their zipline landing across the finish line was celebrated with our co-owners including a personalised ‘Smashed it’ certificate to add to their collection. What better spot to round off an epic nationwide challenge?

What were some highlights?

As Go Ape Annual Pass holders, they’ve been able to visit every location and see how unique each high ropes experience is. Chatting about their top moments, Joy said she “really likes the zips with a skateboard on” while Steve loves the Tarzan Swings, especially Go Ape Black Park and Go Ape Matfen’s thrilling drops. 

How did finishing the challenge feel?

After their thrilling zip across the finish line at Go Ape Whinlatter, Steve said he felt, “Really good, quite challenged. Excited to have seen lots of different places and met some wonderful instructors” while Joy asked, "What's our next challenge?" 

Any favourite Go Ape locations? 

Joy highlighted Go Ape Black Park in Slough, “they have a Tarzan Swing with a lovely drop and swing across” while Steve’s favourite was Go Ape Aberfoyle in Scotland. “They have a stunning zip across the valley and some really high platforms for the Tarzan Swings.” In fact, Joy and Steve are heading back to Aberfoyle following this epic achievement!

They said to “plan, plan, plan”, to make sure to check local location opening times (and maybe buy a planner!). A great way to see them all is our annual pass, valid for one activity a day we’re open across our locations.
