Your First Family Adventure at Go Ape

Nothing beats that first Go Ape family adventure — the buzz of the forest, the laughter, and the moment someone shouts, “I did it!”

Here’s everything you need to know before you visit:

Before You Arrive

Check your confirmation email for your booking details and directions to your chosen location. Aim to arrive 20 minutes early so you can check in and get harnessed up without any rush. Make sure to use the toilet before heading to the cabin, as facilities may not be nearby once your activity begins. Parking information and updates (such as road closures) can be found on your location page.

What to Wear

Dress for fun, not the catwalk! Closed, sturdy shoes are a must — no heels, slip-ons, Crocs or sandals. Keep your midriff covered so your harness sits comfortably over clothing. Long hair should be tied back, and remember — forest floors and white clothes don’t mix!

On the Day

Our instructors will guide you through a short safety briefing before you head up into the trees. Younger adventurers may need a grown-up to climb with them (check age and supervision details on your activity page).

There’s plenty to enjoy on the ground too — many of our locations have cafés, play areas, or scenic walks if some of the family prefer to watch the action from below.

Make a Day of It

Once you’ve conquered the course, explore more of the forest! Pack a picnic, visit the café, or check out other local attractions. Every Go Ape site has something unique nearby.

Capture the Memories

Don’t forget your cameraphone (you can buy a lanyard during checkout or at the cabin). Those zip line moments are too good not to share.
