We can’t wait to welcome you for your Go Ape forest adventure! To make sure your day runs smoothly and you get the most from your experience, it’s worth spending a few minutes preparing before you set off.
How to Prepare for Your Go Ape Adventure
Heading to the forest for an unforgettable Go Ape adventure? Here’s everything you need to know to arrive on time, dressed right, and ready to make the most of your day outdoors.

A little preparation helps you relax and focus on the fun when you arrive.
-
Plan your journey: Directions and travel details for every Go Ape location are listed on our location pages These are regularly updated with local travel news, but we also recommend checking your sat nav and the landlord’s website for the latest information.
-
Arrive early: Please get to the Go Ape cabin at least 15 minutes before your session starts.
-
Check parking: Research parking in advance and bring both change and a card, as facilities vary by site.
-
Complete your risk acknowledgement: Every participant must have a signed risk acknowledgement form. Under-16s require an adult (over 18) to sign and remain on-site for the duration of their session. The booking confirmation email includes a link to complete this online – doing it beforehand will speed up check-in.
Safety comes first on every Go Ape adventure. Please make sure everyone in your group follows these essential rules:
-
No heels, open-toed shoes, slip-ons, Crocs or sandals.
-
No bare midriffs – your harness must fit over clothing.
-
Long hair must be tied back. For Forest Segway, ensure your helmet fits comfortably.
-
No hooped earrings on high-ropes courses, and all piercings must be removed or covered for Nets Adventure.
-
Remove or cover any other jewellery.
You’re heading into the forest – expect a little mud and plenty of smiles!
-
Dress for the weather: Trainers or walking boots are ideal. Choose light, breathable layers in summer, and add insulation or waterproofs when it’s cold or wet. Synthetic or wicking fabrics are great as they dry quickly and move easily.
-
Protect your hands: Gloves are strongly recommended and available to buy at our cabins.
-
Stay hydrated: We have water stations on our high-ropes courses, but drink before your session too.
-
Think sunshine and bugs: On warm days, pack sunglasses, sunscreen, a sun hat, and a touch of insect repellent.
-
Segway riders: It’s usually cooler in the forest – bring extra layers and gloves. You’ll need to wear a helmet, so avoid bulky hats. Draft excluders and gloves are available at our cabins.
A few small extras can make a big difference:
-
A spare change of clothes – it’s all part of the adventure!
-
Food and drink to refuel before and after your session.
-
A towel, just in case you get a bit mucky.
