Instructor Interview Process

What to expect

Every site does things a little differently, but here’s what usually happens when you apply to become an Instructor at Go Ape.

1. One-to-One Interview

  • You’ll be welcomed at the cabin and introduced to the team.

  • Meet your interviewer for a relaxed chat about Go Ape, the role, and your experience.

  • Expect questions about teamwork, communication, and keeping people safe while they have fun.

  • It’s short and friendly — usually around 15 minutes — and we’ll get back to you quickly with an update.

2. Group Interview

  • Meet other applicants and get a feel for the Go Ape vibe.

  • You’ll start with a short introduction to the company and role.

  • Then you’ll head outdoors for one of our adventure activities (yes, you’ll get a taste of the job!).

  • Afterwards, you’ll have a short individual chat (5–10 minutes) to share your skills and experience.

  • We’ll be in touch soon after to let you know the outcome.

Inclusive and Fair Hiring

We’re proud to be a Level 1 Disability Confident Employer, with a Glassdoor Diversity & Inclusion score above the industry average.

If you meet the minimum criteria, you’ll be offered an interview — regardless of your background, gender, age, or ability.

When applications are high, we’ll prioritise candidates who best match the role requirements.
