Driving Directions

IMPORTANT NOTICE: If your session is between 15th and 21st February please be aware that the Sutton Weaver swing bridge is closed, impacting travel through Frodsham once leaving the M56. More information and a map can be found on the Frodsham Council website. Please plan your journey in advance and allow additional time for your journey.

Due to our location, sat nav or GPS may not be accurate. If you do use it, head for ‘Delamere Railway Station’ on Station Road - the B5152. To find the car park, follow the main forest road toward the visitor centre and drive through the barriers on the left into the main forest car park. Our cabin is up the road on the right, then left over the railway bridge. During peak times it can be busy, so add extra time to park.

Public Transport

Delamere train station is a 10-minute walk away from our cabin. Get there via a 20-minute direct train from Chester or just over an hour direct train from Manchester. From the station, take an immediate right into the forest following the path. You’ll see our cabin on the right.

What to wear and bring

Dress for fun in the forest! Closed, sturdy shoes are a must — no heels, slip-ons, flip-flops or Crocs (they might be comfy, but they're not adventure-proof). Keep your midriff covered so your harness sits over clothing, and tie back long hair — we don't want it catching in the treetops.

Oh, and trust us on this one — don't wear white. The forest floor has a sense of humour, and it doesn't play nicely with laundry day. Our adventures are great in all weathers, as long as you're prepared!

Our blog covers what to wear in every season and what to bring for a brilliant day out.

Please contact us before your visit to discuss any accessibility needs. You can also find more information on Forestry England's website.

Parking is in the main Forestry England car park, through the automatic barriers. Follow the main forest road toward the visitor centre and drive through the barriers on the left into the main forest car park. Once parked, follow the signs out of the carpark. Turn right up the road. Then at the bridge turn left over the railway bridge and down towards our cabin. It normally only takes 5-10 minutes to get to the cabin from the car park, but it can take a little longer during peak times.

Customers can store belongings with us, but it is at their own risk and Go Ape takes no responsibility for items left in the cabin. We have boxes for smaller items and limited space for larger items. We would encourage bigger items to be left securely in vehicles where possible.

Toilets are available next to the visitor centre and cafe. They are a 6 minute walk from the Go Ape cabin.

Go Ape Delamere is located in Delamere Forest, Cheshires largest wooded area, just 25 minutes from Chester. We are also accessible by train. Do not follow Sat Nav to get here. What3Words mountains.grumble.alarm will take you to the main car park.
