Driving Directions

We're about a 30-minute drive from Exeter. You’ll see signs for Go Ape at the entrance to Haldon Forest Park. From the north: If you’re travelling southbound on the M5 (which becomes the A38), or coming via the A30, A377 or A379, stay on the A38 towards Plymouth. When the road splits, take the left-hand lanes to remain on the A38 (not the A380 to Torquay). As you approach the top of the hill, get into the left-hand lane early – the exit for ‘Haldon Forest & Exeter Racecourse’ comes up quickly and is a very sharp turn with no slip road. At the mini roundabout, turn right and drive past the Exeter Racecourse entrance. Continue under the underpass and straight on for over a mile. You’ll then see the entrance for Haldon Gateway on your left. From the south: If you’re heading north on the A38 (from Plymouth/Cornwall) or the A380 (from Torquay), follow signs for ‘Haldon Forest & Exeter Racecourse’. You’ll pass a service station shortly before your turn-off. From the A380, follow the signs straight ahead at the mini roundabout, past the racecourse, through the underpass and continue for just over a mile before turning left into Haldon Gateway.

Public Transport

The 360 bus from Exeter stops at Haldon Belvedere (except Sundays and Bank Holidays). It’s a 26-minute walk to our cabin from here, or a short taxi ride. There are direct trains to Exeter from London, Plymouth, Bristol and Salisbury.

What to wear and bring

Dress for fun in the forest! Closed, sturdy shoes are a must — no heels, slip-ons, flip-flops or Crocs (they might be comfy, but they're not adventure-proof). Keep your midriff covered so your harness sits over clothing, and tie back long hair — we don't want it catching in the treetops.

Oh, and trust us on this one — don't wear white. The forest floor has a sense of humour, and it doesn't play nicely with laundry day. Our adventures are great in all weathers, as long as you're prepared!

Our blog covers what to wear in every season and what to bring for a brilliant day out.
