Adventures
In 2024, we launched the Go Ape Foundation to further our ambition to help everyone live life more adventurously and make adventures more accessible to people from all backgrounds and financial circumstances.
We believe in the power of adventure at Go Ape. Pushing ourselves out of our comfort zones is essential for building resilience, confidence and skills that can be taken into everyday life. Adventures can also inspire a life-long love of the outdoors. However, not everyone is able to access adventurous experiences due to financial constraints.
Working with our co-owners and charity partners we will forge partnerships with charitable organisations across the UK and provide access to memorable and transformative experiences to people from all backgrounds.
Our Goal
In 2024, we have committed to donating £30,000 to the Go Ape Foundation. Go Ape will give £15,000 to each of our chosen charity partners, Go Beyond and Free to Be Kids, to support their charitable work and provide adventures to underprivileged and at risk young people. Our dedicated co-owners will also play their part by fundraising and participating in exciting challenges and events throughout the year.
Free to be Kids uses joy, adventure and the outdoors to transform the mental health of some of London's most disadvantaged children. Through residential breaks and longterm follow-on support, they use adventure to help vulnerable children see themselves as brave, proud, talented and successful - and help them experience achieving beyond their own expectations.
We both believe in the inherent power of outdoor adventures and Go Ape will help to facilitate even more experiences which open up a sense of adventure, freedom and possibility for children who are struggling, whatever life's circumstances.
Go Beyond gives children and young people facing serious challenges the chance for a residential break that lasts a lifetime.
They give young people who have been bereaved, abused or bullied, who are living in poverty or caring for loved ones the chance to escape their worries and pressures. Every break is packed with activities intended to encourage self-belief and inspire adventurousness.
Together Go Ape and Go Beyond will work to facilitate even more adventurous breaks and help each child to go home knowing they can achieve more than they ever thought possible.
Our first foundation fundraising event!
Throughout October everyone who has signed up will be working together to see how many miles we can clock up in exercise, whilst raising money for the Go Ape Foundation. We’re talking walking. running, cycling, swimming, rowing - whatever it is that gets us moving!
Everyone has a minimum fundraising goal of £20 and a target of 5 miles per day (approx. 10,000 steps). The collective target we have as a Tribe is 13,795 miles.
All the funds we raise will be split 50/50 between our charity partners; Go Beyond and Free to be Kids.
We appreciate all donations to support our two charity partners, and you can do so using this link.
We’ll be posting a challenge report on our blog after we’ve completed it – this will let you know all the details on mileage we covered and funds we’ve raised.
The Go Ape Foundation will select charitable organisations to work with and support.
Unfortunately, we are not able to consider applications from other organisations at this stage.
