Our Highest Go Ape Adventures in the UK

If you like your adventures tall, towering and a little bit terrifying (in a good way), we’ve got just the thing. Across the UK, a handful of Go Ape sites take high ropes to new heights — literally. Whether you’re conquering the dizzying zips of the Lake District or stepping off platforms suspended above the forest floor, these are the courses for true height-seekers.

Aberfoyle, Stirling

Height: Up to 22 metres

Home to our highest Go Ape adventure in the UK, Aberfoyle is a true mountain-top experience. You’ll cross wobbly bridges and daring obstacles high above the forest floor before taking on our longest zip wires — each stretching nearly 400 metres and flying right over a waterfall.

Set in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, this one’s not for the faint-hearted — it’s a bucket-list challenge for thrill-seekers.

Grizedale, Lake District

Height: Up to 18 metres

Grizedale delivers altitude and adventure in equal measure. Nestled among the fells of the Lake District, it’s famous for high platforms, tricky crossings, and incredible views from the canopy.

The final zip wire is a showstopper — nearly half a kilometre long, flying you through the trees and over the hills.

Glentress Forest, Peebles

Height: Up to 18 metres

Located in the stunning Tweed Valley, Go Ape Peebles (Glentress Forest) offers breathtaking views and high-wire adventure to match. You’ll climb, balance, and swing your way across the canopy before launching yourself off zip lines that soar above the valley below.

It’s pure Scottish wilderness — big skies, tall trees, and even bigger thrills.

Whinlatter Forest, Lake District

Height: Up to 14 metres

Welcome to England’s only true mountain forest — and the perfect adventure for brave kids and bold adults. Our Treetop Adventure Plus at Whinlatter is packed with wobbly crossings, high ropes, and zips that race through the forest canopy.

It’s ideal for families who want to level up from Treetop Adventure or adults looking for something high, but not too hardcore.

Dalby Forest, North Yorkshire

Height: Up to 14 metres

Go Ape Dalby is perched high above a beautiful valley in the North York Moors, offering panoramic views and some serious height. The course features high rope crossings that test your nerve and balance, ending with a thrilling zip line that sends you soaring through the forest.

A top pick for anyone who wants height, challenge, and jaw-dropping scenery all in one adventure.

Cannock Chase, Staffordshire

Height: Up to 14 metres

Set within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Cannock Chase gives you high-wire thrills in the heart of the Midlands. You’ll cross sky-high walkways, daring bridges, and finish with zips that make you feel like you’re flying over the treetops.

So, Which Will You Conquer First?

Whether you’re zip-lining through the Highlands, climbing through England’s only mountain forest, or tackling the canopy in Yorkshire, these adventures will leave you feeling on top of the world.

Just don’t forget to look down — the view’s worth it.
