What's available here

Tree Top Adventure
Enjoy two to three hours in the trees taking on Zip Wires, Tarzan Swings, Rope Ladders and a variety of obstacles and crossings. Set in a forest of sky-scraping Douglas Firs, Grizedale feels seriously high, mainly due to its vertigo-inducing 19 metre platforms.

Our South Lakes adventure features two Zip Wires which fly over the road below!

*Minimum height 1.4m (4ft 7"). Maximum weight 20.5 stone (130kg)

We have a wide range of catering options to refuel your Tribe. The most popular among teams is our forest BBQ. Our chef will cook up a feast of homemade beef burgers, sausages and marinated chicken, all served with roasted vegetables, fresh salads and breads. We also offer bacon brunches and welcome drinks with teas, coffees and juices paired with fresh baked pastries.

Forest Segway Experience
Discover more of Cheshire’s largest wooded area on board our self-balancing Segways. Your Tribe will cover lots of terrain, passing two sites of special scientific interest, including a rare ‘quaking bog’ – home to some of the UK’s rarest wildlife. Grizedale boasts some incredible focal points - stopovers at Wood Moss Tarn and Howgill View are part of the experience.

Weather permitting, your Tribe will skirt beautiful Blakemere Moss – a flooded wetland plain formed during the Ice Age. It's a beautiful day of exploring that your team won't be forgetting in a hurry.

*Minimum weight 7 stone. Maximum weight 19.5 stone (125kg)

Zip Trekking Adventure
Zip Trekking Adventure is a network of seven tandem zip lines that traverse the skyscraping Douglas Firs at Grizedale Forest, providing you with an exhilarating experience of flying way above the forest floor.

This adventure lasts approximately 2 hours and covers a whopping 3000 metres of zip wires travelling up to 45 mph.

*Minimum height 1.4m (4ft 7"). Participants must weigh between 7 stone (45kg) and 19.5 stone (125kg).

When do I need to arrive?

Make your way to the Go Ape cabin and be ready to get going on your Go Ape adventure at your booked time. Late arrivals that miss their session will be charged at full price.

What should I wear?

We suggest that you wear something you don’t mind getting grubby. Dress for the weather, so bring along a mac if it’s raining! Make sure your stomach area is covered. Please wear appropriate footwear with soles with good grips. No sandals or slip-off shoes. You’ll need closed toe and heel shoes (with flat soles). Long hair must be tied back.

Are there storage facilities?

Some sites are able to store small items that cannot be left securely in a vehicle, but there are limited spaces. Go Ape cannot accept liability of any items lost or damaged whilst in our care. We recommend you leave valuable items at home. At Battersea Park, all loose items must be left on the ground either with a spectator or in lockers provided. If you need to take a camera or glasses they must be attached (which we may be able to assist with). This is due to the Battersea adventure being completely over public space (playground, café, Mini Golf).

Where is the BBQ or Picnic served?

Our caterers will set up in the Forest Shelters and whichever Forest Feast you choose, we will have it prepared and ready for the agreed time to include any individual dietary requirements!
