WildPlay Trail

Calling all mini explorers!

Get your adventure on as you swing, slide, splash and climb at Forestry England’s WildPlay playground, with nine exciting play zones set in the beautiful mountain forest.
Test your engineering skills and learn something new as you play with the Archimedes Screws, pulleys and shoots in the gravel pit. Challenge yourself on the climbing wall and giant timber climbing frame or soar through the air on the log swing.

Two Gills Trail

A beautiful landscape.

This scenic trail with a lake view is popular for its breath-taking views. It's a breeze to navigate, as it largely follows the forest road network, making it accessible to most.
As you journey along the trail, you'll cross both Black Gill and Comb Gill, and watch them meander down the mountain slopes towards the stunning Bassenthwaite Lake below. This hike is a feast for the eyes and the perfect way to explore the great outdoors.

This spectacular circular walk in Whinlatter Forest is packed with breathtaking views of Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite Lake, as well as the majestic Skiddaw and Helvellyn mountain ranges - this trail is sure to impress.
