Things To Do In Bedgebury
Go Ape is right up there - literally - when looking for a fantastically fun day out near Tunbridge Wells. Take your little monkeys and see their faces light up when you tell them they're going to have a go on the awesome Tree Top Junior course, zipping through the trees with trail blazing and obstacles for everyone to enjoy. But where will you and your tribe hang out before or after your exhilarating Go Ape experience? With the stunning spa town of Tunbridge Wells just a stone's throw away, there's plenty for you to see and do. Here are a few of our suggestions to get you started.
Dubbed as "the forest with it all", Bedgebury Forest is one of the great highlights of the south east.
What to do.
Walk around Bedgebury Forest.
The forest offers all-ability scenic trails, perfect for a brisk stroll before or after your Go Ape experience. From gentle strolls to guided walks, there's a route to suit everyone. The Family Backpack Walk is a huge hit amongst school children; they're given a bag containing a guide book, binoculars, a 'bark rubbing kit' and a magnifying glass. Best of all, it's only £3.
Where to go?
Tunbridge Wells Museum and Art Gallery.
Sharing the special story of the Borough of Tunbridge Wells, this fantastic museum showcases an outstanding collection of costumes, dolls, art and toys. As well as this, there are excellent natural and local history items to discover (kids will love looking at the dinosaur bones).
Where to eat?
The restaurant recently won TopTable's Diners' Choice Award - and it's easy to see why. It has all the ingredients for a successful restaurant: reasonably-priced food, stylish ambience, a town-centre location, homemade food and great service. Throw into the mix a menu designed just for kids and you have the perfect establishment. With an emphasis on 'embandas' - that's Argentinian street food - the adults will have plenty to choose from. And with a children's menu including grilled salmon and homemade burgers, everyone will be happy.
And something for a rainy day?
Situated in St. John's Quarter, Glazy Daisy invites you to paint your own ceramics, meaning your mantelpiece (or your cupboard, depending on how artistic you are) can now showcase your very own creations. As well as loving the great outdoors, children love to create and try new things - so it's no wonder this pottery designing shop is so popular. It's time to let your imagination run free and see what happens.
