Is Go Ape suitable for a 6 year old?

At Go Ape, we have 37 adventure-filled forest locations across the UK, with thrilling high ropes and ground-based experiences for tots to centenarians. We’re a great place to have an adventurous day out (if we do say so ourselves) but it's important to choose the right activity for your age and ability.

Go Ape is committed to the safety and happiness of all visitors and instructors on our courses. In fact, we’re proud to have been awarded the RoSPA Gold Award for Health and Safety practices for the sixth year in a row.

We’ll explain exactly which adventures your 6-year-old can do below but you can also find this detailed on each of the Adventure webpages. 

Treetop Adventure 

 

If your 6-year-old is after an awesome high ropes adventure, Treetop Adventure would be our first port of call! Get a birds-eye view of the forest as you leap through the trees on twisty and wobbly crossings before swooping back to the ground in style on a zip line.  Treetop Adventure is ideal for all thrill seekers over 1m tall and the maximum weight is 130kg (20.5stones). 

One participating adult (18+) can supervise up to two children aged under 6 while on the course. For 6-15 year olds, adults (18+) can supervise up to 5 children on the ground or on the activity.  

Treetop Adventure Plus

 

Looking to level up? Treetop Adventure Plus is the next level up, literally! Turn up the thrills on higher platforms, more difficult crossings and exciting zip wire rides. Some Treetop Adventure Plus experiences take place on standalone courses, others give you access to Treetop Adventure and then additional loops.

Designed for children over 6 years old and 1.2m tall, Treetop Adventure Plus is all about the ‘more’. More speed, more air, more freedom, more height and more thrills.

Nets Adventure

 

Nets Adventure is a fun and challenging activity for everyone over 1 year old (participants must be able to stand unaided). The perfect option for energetic 6-year-olds, they can bounce to their hearts content on 30-feet high suspended bouncy nets, spread out over three different levels and linked by tree top walkways. There are also inflatable balls to up the bounce factor and super slides to bring you back down to earth in style.

The Nets Adventure is a great way to get some exercise, have fun, and challenge yourself. It is also a great way to see the forest from a new perspective.

Mini Land Rovers

 

Only available at Go Ape Coventry, Coombe Abbey, budding rally drivers between 3-11 years old can get behind the wheel on a unique Mini Land Rover adventure.

With three laps around the off-road track, located next to the Go Ape cabin, your little ones will be pros in no time!

Adult supervisors can sit in the Mini Land Rovers or walk alongside them and - don’t worry - will have a remote to operate the vehicles. All training is also provided before the activity begins.

Mini Land Rovers is run as a 'walk by' service only and operates most days that the Treetops course is open.
