ADVENTURE FANATICS STEP THIS WAY

Winding your way through Thornwaite Forest en route to Whinlatter Forest Park - you’ll get a sense of what awaits you. It’s a breath-taking journey as you travel higher and higher, heading up into the clouds. Be prepared - this World Heritage Site delivers incredible views across the hillsides, forest and fells.

If you felt like you were heading into the sky on the way in, just wait until you hit the high platforms. Savour the feeling of space and mountain air as you travel from treetop to treetop. It’s a pretty special experience from our Forest Segway too, with unrivalled views across Bassenthwaite Lake, Derwentwater and Keswick.

If you’re a keen cyclist then you’re going to love Whinlatter Forest which has been described as ‘putting the mountain back into biking’.

It’s home to the longest purpose-built mountain bike trails in the Lake District and also has a mountain bike orienteering trail.

As well as hitting all the thrill-seeking buttons, Whinlatter delivers big on the family fun too. Hit the WildPlay trail which has nine different play zones or for younger children, there is a fairy kingdom, with secret path and hidden carvings.
