So you're spending some time in the morning or afternoon swinging around in the trees at the beautiful Wendover Woods, but what do you do for the rest of the day?

The historic market town of Aylesbury is just a stone's throw away and is the perfect place to enjoy your couples day out before or after your Go Ape shenanigans.

Where to go?

One of the most spectacular National Trust properties in the area is Boarstall Tower a moated gatehouse built in 1312. As the house is tenanted, there are guided tours available. It's surrounded by postcard-worthy gardens and both the interior and exterior remain largely unaltered since the early 17th century. History at its finest and well worth a mooch around.

What to do?

While you're out in Wendover Woods, it would be a crime not to explore them further. Before or after your Go Ape adventure, why not embark on a walk? There are many trails available to suit the very young to the very old. Some of the most popular are the easy-access Hilltop Trail or the Firecast Trail, which follows woodland paths through various habitats within Wendover Woods. Don't forget your binoculars.

Where to eat?

If you're a fan of olde worlde pubs, the King's Head is for you. Situated in the heart of Aylesbury, it's been going since the 15th century. Take a moment to soak in some of the pub's charming architectural features, including its unique stained-glass windows and original stabling. Beer lovers will be in their element (as long as it's after you Go Ape!); they have a plentiful selection of the finest draught ales and bottled beers. The scent of hops will no doubt get your tummy rumbling, so why not choose a 'Bill of Fare' platter - packed with freshly-baked bread and out-of-this-world cheese made with their very own Beechwood Bitter.

And something for a rainy day?

The Aylesbury Waterside Theatre in the heart of the town cost a whopping £47 million to create, but residents certainly believe it was money well-spent. Watching a performance here is the perfect thing to do on a drizzly evening they host a range of quality shows throughout the year, including comedy, drama, dance and live music.
