Benefits of Combining Camping and Go Ape
A campsite is the perfect basecamp, enabling you to wake up in nature and set off easily for the days' adventure.
Less charging facilities encourages you to ditch your screen (and doom scrolling) and instead appreciate the nature around you.
When choosing your campsite it’s important to consider what you’ll want and need. Look for campsites with good reviews which are clean with well-maintained amenities such as toilets, showers, and cooking areas.
If you’re bringing your own camping gear, make sure that the campsite has pitches with enough space to accommodate your needs.
It’s also important to consider other factors like surrounding scenery as well as access to other attractions. Some more remote locations may offer tranquillity and views, while others may be closer to towns or tourist spots.
Choose the correct tent: Select a tent that suits your needs and the number of people in your group. Make sure it’s actually waterproof - and it’s always good if it's easy to set up.
Pack essential gear: Don’t forget to bring a sleeping bag, sleeping mat, camping stove, cooking utensils, headlamps, and a first aid kit.
Plan Your meals: Plan your meals in advance and pack enough food items (or make sure that there is a food shop close by).
Access to water: Don’t forget to bring plenty of water to start you off and ensure that your campsite has water facilities.
Dress appropriately: Remember to check the weather forecast before your trip but also remember that British summers can be unpredictable! Bring layers so you can adapt to changing temperatures and don’t forget a waterproof jacket and sturdy hiking boots. It’s also worth bringing something cosy for the evenings.
Leave no trace: Most of all let’s respect nature by leaving the campsite the way we found it: clean and free of litter. Dispose of waste responsibly and follow the principles of ‘Leave No Trace’ to preserve the environment.
