 Just a few miles from Robin Hood’s infamous Major Oak hideout, this Nottinghamshire gem is a legend in its own right. This location features our brand new Nets Kingdom activity as well as a trio of other outdoor challenges. So whether you're a trail-blazing adrenaline junkie or looking to whet your appetite for adventure, our awesome team at Sherwood Pines are ready and waiting.

Tree Top Adventure is the shining star of high ropes in the UK, bring your Tribe for a challenge set 9 metres above the forest floor. For a fun day with the kids there's Tree Top Junior where you can enjoy family time in the great outdoors. We haven't forgotten those that love to get off-road, say hello to our Forest Segway Experience.

Tree Top Adventure

Zip wires, Tarzan swings, rope ladders and more - this high ropes course has it all. It's a mischevious mix of obstacles, all designed to challenge and thrill adventure-seekers. Home to one of our unique dual high ropes paths, it includes a tandem Zip Wire on Site 5 for you to share that wind-in-your-face experience. Our Nottinghamshire adventure also features a Net Bridge, Twister and Full Trapeze for you to climb, clamber and conquer!

Let loose and have a blast with the kids on Tree Top Junior. It's an hour of zipping through the tree tops and mastering our wobbly obstacles and crossings. You’ll whizz through three loops of crossings including the Net Bridge - a firm favourite at Sherwood Pines.

Gather your Tribe and dart through the trees on our all-terrain Segways. It's a totally different way to reconnect with nature. With expert tuition from our Segway Instructors, mastering your new skills takes a matter of minutes, and you’ll be whizzing your way through this historic plantation in no time.

  • Wear sensible clothes for adventure
  • Footwear must be sturdy and suitable for the outdoors. No sandals, slip off shoes, open toes or heels.
  • Gloves are a good idea. Bring a pair or buy them at the cabin on the day.
  • forestry commission parking is £6 for the day, bring some change

Famous by its historical association with the legend of Robin Hood, Sherwood Pines Forest Park is the largest forest open to the public in the East Midlands. Just 20 miles from Nottingham, our leafy hideout offers the best views over 3000 acres of stunning woodland.

Please search google maps for "Go Ape Sherwood" for an accurate location.

Follow brown signs to 'Sherwood Pines' from Ollerton or the A614. Sherwood Pines is located on the B6030 between Clipstone and Ollerton.

Just 20 miles from Nottingham.

Due to the rural nature of our locations, postcodes are not always accurate when using satellite navigation. Please always check the route before setting off, and cross reference with a map.

Please note that the following parking charges apply: £2 for 1 hour, £4 for 2 hours, £6 all day


By Train
The nearest train stations are at Mansfield, Mansfield Woodhouse and Worksop. For more information visit National Rail


By Bus
The nearest bus stop is around 2 miles from Go Ape in Kings Clipstone and then it’s on foot from there.

Please note. There are no footpaths between the village and the forest you have to walk on the edge of a fairly busy road.

We advise allowing plenty of time as it's likely it will take you a lot longer by public transport.

Opening Times

Our forest doors at Sherwood are open nearly all year around so there's plenty of time to live life adventurously. 

However, we usually close after early December as not only does it get a little chilly we like to give our adventures a little TLC during this time.
