Near to Robin Hood’s infamous Major Oak hideout, Go Ape Sherwood Pines can be found 20-miles from Nottingham. The 100-year-old pines provide a high canopy and although the woodland is open, you’ll find our high ropes course nicely hidden.

If, after tackling the Go Ape adventure, you’re still up for more fun, there are over 3,300 acres for you to explore. The largest forest in East Midlands could keep the family busy for days!

Bring or hire bikes to take advantage of the popular cycling routes. Sherwood Pines Cycles are located a short distance from the Go Ape cabin, and offer cycle hire, repairs, and used bikes for sale.

Sherwood Pines is a regional centre of excellence with waymarked walking and cycling trails, Gruffallo sculptures and seasonal trails, as well as disc golf

Walking routes include the Dragonfly Trail, which has an all-weather walking surface and children’s play areas. Check out the Go Ape guide to the best walking routes in Sherwood Pines.

Want to be at one with nature? You can sign up for a bushcraft course and learn the skills of shelter building, fire lighting, willow weaving and traditional woodworking.

Finish off with a relaxing drink and bite to eat at the Sherwood Pines Café.

Cycle Hire

Sherwood Pines Cycles are located a stones-throw from the Go Ape cabin and offer bike hire including extras such as buggies, tagalongs and child seats. You’ll also find a range of bikes for sale and mechanics on hand for cycle maintenance.

Tripadvisor Travelers' Choice Award Winner

In 2024 Go Ape Sherwood was awarded the Tripadvisor Travelers' Choice Award. Here's a recent review:

"We visited Go Ape for my 30th Birthday and it was super! Our instructor Honey was so lovely, enthusiastic and supportive. We did the Challenge Plus as we have done other courses in the past but always opted for the easier routes. It was great to try all the new types of crossings. The Tarzan Swing is my favourite as you really just have to take a leap of faith. Thank you to the team!"
