ALICE HOLT

Surrey

Alice Holt is a royal forest in Hampshire, situated some 4 miles (6.4 km) south of Farnham, Surrey. Part of the South Downs National Park, our leafy hideout boasts an epic backdrop and is just a stone's throw away from where they filmed the opening battle from Gladiator and, more recently, scenes from Skyfall, Captain America and Avengers: Age of Ultron.

We suggest that you wear something you don’t mind getting grubby. Dress for the weather, so bring along a mac if it’s raining! Make sure your stomach area is covered. When do I need to arrive?

Make your way to the Go Ape cabin and be ready to get going on your Go Ape adventure at your booked time. Late arrivals that miss their session will be charged at full price.

What is Tree Top Junior?

It’s a fun filled hour of canopy exploring, trail blazing and obstacles for all to enjoy. You’ll negotiate crossings and finish on a high (literally) with one awesome zip wire.

Can I go on as an adult?

If you want to join your little monkeys then just book yourself on. Bear in mind the course is designed for children so the safety cable won’t be quite where you'd like it.

Are there toilets?

Yes there will be, but they may be a little walk from the Go Ape cabin. Please allow some extra time for a toilet stop!

TREE TOP ADVENTURE, Rivington

25th August 2016

I have visited the Rivington site previously with my 2nd youngest son so when my youngest was old and tall enough i took him and can say that both absolutely loved it especially the zip wires. The staff are very friendly, helpful yet thorough in their safety briefing which instills confidence in the more nervous participants. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable experience which my son is already asking to repeat.

We had two 11 year old boys and they loved the whole thing, but they must have been waiting for at least 30 minutes of the time waiting for parents with really young terrified children. I realise you pay for an hour, but I feel it should be at least twice round or an hour, as our boys it wasn't worth the money as the time was standing waiting, I do realise you have busy times, that is why I suggest an hour or twice round.

TREE TOP ADVENTURE, Grizedale

25th August 2016

Found queuing for long periods frustrating. Suggestion: children should be able to be responsible for their own equipment to stop congestion. Perhaps put children and their adults in a separate group to adults only? It took us nearly 3hr 30mins when really we could've done it in 2hrs 30min. Other than this-the experience was fantastic and we will be returning. :)

The location and staff were great. Really disappointed that I was offered a 20% discount from my July visit but was unable to use it as it had expired then the moment I booked and paid full price again I was sent another 20% discount. I won't book again because of this.

TREE TOP ADVENTURE, Thetford Forest

I was cajoled into going ape as part of my daughter's 18th birthday celebrations. Being totally terrified of heights, I wasn't looking forward to swinging through the treetops. After the initial rush of terror as I climbed the first ladder and as the adrenaline began to course through me on unfastening the first of the clips while standing on a small wooden platform, I actually began to enjoy my experience. I was left rather euphoric after my first tree-top adventure with Go Ape.

TREE TOP JUNIOR, Thetford Forest

25th August 2016

I took my three grand children to go ape junior. The complaint I have is on the junior you allow teenage children one in particular who was swinging the net part of the course it created a reaction with the eldest grandchild who is 10 who started to cry and knocked his confidence.I would have thought teenagers or children over a certain size should go on the more advanced course or more supervision should be aware of certain individuals who would create these situations. His time spent on the course was 5 minutes, the other 2 had a great time luckily they never got the swinging teenager.

TREE TOP JUNIOR, Cannock

Going to Go Ape was a birthday present for my son and he has waited since January to be able to go. He is 8 years old and he thought it was EPIC!! The instructors were brilliant and good fun, and the self confidence and self belief that he gained are immeasurable. We struggled to get him off it at the end! Thank you Cannock we had a fab time!
